I'm in almost the same position as you and it's killing me. Is going under FR a good sign or a bad sign? (Sorry if this has been addressed before)
It isn't a great sign, but I think the consensus is that it is better than being waitlisted/rejected straight out. There is still as chance of being accepted. We will have a better idea by the 5th when FR1 decisions are released.
I never even went FR though... still sitting at UR 11/30.
I'm UR 12/21, and I've given up trying to sleuth out patterns. I've tried extensively, and there are just too many what ifs since we don't really know what's going on over there. Truthfully, I've resigned myself to the fact that since others in my time frame have been accepted and put into faculty review, but not denied, it doesn't seem like a good sign. However, since there are so many variables, and we don't know the process, all results are inconclusive. Whatever happens, happens.

Has anyone who went UR 12/21 been dinged?
Not yet.
Ugh...that doesn't bode too well
I'm hoping that there is at least another big wave of acceptances like there was earlier this month. So far they've only trickled in for UR 12/21 or so it seems... This is a tiny sample size

I was just thinking the same thing.. But at least it will be over soon. I think the hardest part will be keeping my phone battery charged on Friday while I constantly refresh my email.

one day early would be nice. And even though I'm complaining, I think I definitely prefer having this stated date to wait for over the constant speculation of all my other apps.

Yeah, I'm not FR so I'm just waiting for the ding to roll thru at any time, but yet keeping a strand of optimism to keep me going. You are lucky you're not subject to the constant unknown

Yes, if you have some hope. I've already resigned myself to getting dinged/WL, so I'll just be happy to turn the page.

but if you wanted to admit me, Berkeley, I'd be super duper happy

I do appreciate, though, that they give us a specific date to learn our fates as opposed to having to obsessively status check and try to measure the meaning of UR date change intervals.

Again, love your style B.

This is my fault for being completely oblivious, but when did y'all hear about your decision date? I just get messages about being under review.

No news is good news, my friend. If you go FR, they notify you of a date to expect their decision. For us round 1 FR folks, that's this Friday, 2/5.

First ding of the cycle. Not FR, UR 12/9.

Actually kind of relieved to avoid WL stress. Thanks for the ride, Berkeley! Good luck to everyone else!
