Congrats all
looking forward to seeing you next year; you'll love it here.
Also: don't even bother being tempted to turn the Ruby down. Chicago is phenomenal.

That would surprise me. Fairly certain there were multiple waves last year!Po$eidon wrote:Congrats on all of the Rubies! That's all of them right?

Went complete on 12/20 and no response yet. I submitted apps for Harvard and Columbia at the same time, and have heard from both already (JS1/accept). Is this still within the normal turnaround time for an interview, or should I lower my expectations?

I went complete 12/8, UR1 12/20, and have had radio silence as well. Same boat as you for CLS and HLS as well. I just keep telling myself that they're delaying the next interview wave, but that I'll be in it. I wouldn't worry about it too much; if you can get into CLS, Chicago should at least give you an interview.cranburial wrote:Went complete on 12/20 and no response yet. Oops, yeah, 12/20 was my UR date, not complete. So it looks like they move apps in big waves?tappatappatappa wrote:Liking this theory... exact same complete and UR1 dates, also into CLS and JS1 at HLS... maybe they're just being slow!Bearlyalive wrote:I went complete 12/8, UR1 12/20, and have had radio silence as well. Interviewed this morning and had just one question that wasn't on the list ITT. It definitely wasn't the warmest interview of my life, but she wasn't too scary and there were a couple of lighter moments. Bottom line: I don't mind having a nice 20-minute slot to talk about myself with a stranger.

I had my interview yesterday and I laughed at some point (I thought it was appropriate to laugh at the moment...), and my interviewer looked really concerned and asked if I was alright.

RE: Various reports of interviews that didn't go as well as hoped, take heart: I thought I bombed my Chicago interview, and I ended up with the Ruby offer. That's obviously anecdotal and not predictive of anybody else's results. But I think it shows that you shouldn't put too much stock in your feelings right after an interview. Especially a Chicago interview, since they tend to be tougher than most, it seems to me.

Things I got from your post: If you feel like you bombed your interview, you'll actually end up getting the Ruby.WinterComing wrote:RE: Various reports of interviews that didn't go as well as hoped, take heart: I thought I bombed my Chicago interview, and I ended up with the Ruby offer. Sweet.

Well I'm pretty sure the reward for worst interview this cycle goes to me.
My internet died halfway through the interview. So I ran across the street where my contact number was only to realize that my current contact number is out of date, so I called admissions trying to get a hold of my interviewer, so they e-mailed them, but it was too late because I got an email for my interviewer saying they didn't have time now, and I'd have to reschedule.
RIP Chicago dream.

That really sucks, although the fact that they're letting you reschedule should give a sliver of hope.clarf wrote:Well I'm pretty sure the reward for worst interview this cycle goes to me.

I can now see Clarf just showing up day 1 and spending a week at school without ever knowing if he was actually admitted.oliverotis wrote:+1 George Costanza was the first thing that came to mind. Cursed windows update + Skype account issues here even after triple checking everything the night before. Not that interesting or quite as Costanza-ish, but just letting you know that you're not the only one. Though I'm still waiting to hear back... so maybe this isn't reassuring after all...clarf wrote:Well I'm pretty sure the reward for worst interview this cycle goes to me.
