Good luck to the rest of you!
It's to a school's benefit to have a pool of candidates with a variety of GPAs and LSATs that they can pick from at the end of the cycle to help a median or fill a seat. For most applicants, however, it is a soft rejection.Gucci Mane wrote:What's the logic behind waitlisting over 300 people when they only anticipate accepting 20 or so? It almost seems they're using it as a soft rejection.
Same here hillz - but I am thankful we are still in it!hillz wrote:Still UR2 12/16. Definitely a little disappointed about the radio silence.

Seems like a huge chunk of us WL'ers from yesterday had the same number makeup. Not sure its YP but it is interesting.downbeat14 wrote:WL, GPA 25-50, LSAT several points above 75th... YP?

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

True but you might as well call that a YP strategy as well. They know the T6 (particularly their closest competitors Columbia and NYU) are going to draw the big LSATs so Penn focuses more on GPA. Just my 2 cents.af0890 wrote:I'd just assume their outrageously high median GPA and relatively low median LSAT means they weight GPA more heavily, no?
This. Same with UVA and Dukelc39 wrote:True but you might as well call that a YP strategy as well. It makes sense that this is the case with Penn because of what you mentioned, but I just want to add that they could weigh it for reasons more than just YP. Chicago, Stanford, and Berkeley all come to mind when I think of GPA-heavy schools, and I don't think people claim that it's a form of YP for them.lc39 wrote:True but you might as well call that a YP strategy as well.
