Asha in her office: "These TLS kids are crazy"
(I may or may not have made the same joke about JS in the Harvard thread, but I guarantee if she and Asha ever talk, TLS is one of the things they laugh about)

And I'm quite certain they do talk, based on Asha's collective blog entry with the other admissions deans.LetsGoMets wrote:Asha in her office: "These TLS kids are crazy"

In 3.5 years when we are all JDs, we will probably laugh at ourselves too. Until then, though, I personally like knowing I'm not alone in losing sleep or having dreams about the fate of my applications!

Do we know the current number of students in the admitted students facebook group?

Someone with an 11/19 complete date was accepted this evening according to LSN, so it looks like they may be finally doubling back for those 11s. This should be an interesting week!

Late night Yale tweet:
So there are still files to come back from FR? Maybe more late submitters? No more calls this evening. We're expecting quite a few files to return from review this week, so stay tuned! #proftrelawneydontfailusnow

got the acceptance email last night. complete 2/13. GPA and LSAT at/above medians.
still in shock and really confused because I was pretty set on Stanford. if anyone is also facing this decision (yale/stanford) and has any thoughts pm me! and feel free to pm for any other info as well.

I think I have to ground myself from TLS, LSN and the YLS twitter because it's making me cray-cray. Got pleeeeeeenty to do for school and work in the next five days, so I need all the focus I can get!
Will check in if I hear back this week. Hopefully I can stay strong like bull and keep myself off this forum till then!
Good luck to all, congrats to the acceptances, and @kulizy1, that's a great dilemma to have!

hey, i happen to be facing the same choice. er, it's not really a choice anymore because i chose yale.kulizy1 wrote:got the acceptance email last night. complete 2/13. GPA and LSAT at/above medians.

there are many reasons for this. i suppose it depends on your context/goals, but yale offers stuff - opportunities, activities, organizations, etc. - that nowhere else does.
i'd do lots of research on both schools and talk to as many students as possible. so far every student from each school has spoken very, very positively, but they can give you details that are hard to glean as an outsider.
this is obviously a wonderful choice to make, but i really feel yale beats all in nearly every category.
btw, i also was VERY MUCH expecting to be rejected, and had pretty much decided on stanford, so i know exactly where you're coming from.

Re: Yale c/o 2018 (2014-2015 Applicants)
Good strategy. This is getting to be insane. Just when I'm about to write-off the school, they tweet that "quite a few" files are still out there. It's excellent that they tweet updates (THANK YOU ASHA/WHOEVER DOES THIS), but still.WhoReviewedThis wrote:I think I have to ground myself from TLS, LSN and the YLS twitter because it's making me cray-cray. Looks like there are about 40ish admit slots left based on the facebook, and they will admit people up to a week from now, basically, with a majority of admits probably coming on/before Monday because of logistical/practical considerations.

From the Admissions blog:
Pretty neat; I had no idea that was the number that made it to FR.http://blogs.law.yale.edu/blogs/admissions/archive/2007/11/08/the-secret.aspx wrote:"To this end, I send about 25% of our applicant pool -- close to 1,000 files -- to our faculty "Committees." At this stage, each application is sent, in a stack of about 50 files, to three faculty readers."

3/18 complete. Double medians. Mostly a good application except for a truly atrocious 250. Bring on the ding.
