They haven't responded since. How long should I wait before politely inquiring as to my interview status?

What stage of the process are you on? Have you been asked to interview yet? When did you go complete?abdistotle wrote:I'm leaving the country soon and really want my interview to be before Christmas or not at all. what are my chances of being interviewed before Christmas?edwardt1988 wrote:It took them a little over 2 weeks to get back to me in the same situation, so it's probably safe to wait for nowmetroidbum wrote:They emailed me about an interview on December 6th asking a. if I wanted to be interviewed at all and b. which method of interviewing (in person, phone, skype). I interviewed this month but have had only one status update when my app went complete at the end of Nov. Not sure what's up with that.

Do most of those invited to interview with an alumnus get accepted or is it not really indicative of your chances?

Not wholly indicative: several of us were "held for further review" after our interviews (...mine was with an alumna, so not sure about people with group interviews).str8yolked wrote:Do most of those invited to interview with an alumnus get accepted or is it not really indicative of your chances?

do you know if there is a thread for those of us that are being held? Ya there is a thread specifically for those held at Georgetown. Here's the link:gobears!! wrote:do you know if there is a thread for those of us that are being held? Unfortunately, it's not very active. I was held after a group interview. It seems that we're gonna hear back from them at the very end of February. I went through the entire thread and it seems like most people were either waitlisted or rejected. But don't be discouraged there is always hope!

Who else is doing the group interview tomorrow in NYC? Luckily for me it is across the street from my office!
From everything I've read it seems like a pretty relaxed setting...I'm assuming we should just be prepared to express why we're interested in law school and why specifically GULC?

Not attending the NYC group interview, but I did participate in a group interview hosted by Dean Andy Cornblatt when he came to my school on the West Coast. Setting was relaxed as you say, and in my opinion focused on how you present yourself as well as work with others in team exercises. Make sure to actively participate while (more importantly) giving off a good impression!omzster67 wrote:Who else is doing the group interview tomorrow in NYC? Is there a difference between group v individual interview? The impression I got from my email was that this would be a 1-on-1 interview for me

My email seemed to be commending my attributes also... Not my good looks and sense of humor, but rather, my lsat performance. I thought I had a rly good shot at admission, did u as well? Maybe this is to gauge our interest more than decide if we are borderline admits?

168 3.5 MA URM. So idk. But I killed the interview, so I know if I get rejected it won't be on account of that.

You're at the median lsat and slightly below median gpa... I think as a urm you're a strong candidate... Did your email mention your credentials or no?KanyeShrug wrote:abdistotle wrote:Nice.. do u have clutch #s?KanyeShrug wrote:Mine was 1 on 1. Group interview or alumni? I'm guessing alumni, in which case it depends. I think they have to find someone available to interview, then that person has to figure out their schedule and such. Esp with the holidays coming up, there's probably a decent chance you might not be able to schedule one before Christmas. Mine took more than 2 weeks from when I was asked if I want an alumni interview until she contacted meabdistotle wrote:Asked to interview today and responded today. Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I think it just depends on your location and timing of your application. Group interviews seem to be conducted in major cities, so not living near a major city would probably result in an alumni interview. If you do live near a major city, whether or not you get a group interview may depend on when the group interview in your city is scheduled. For example, if you submit right after one has already taken place in your city, etc. you're probably more likely to get an alumni interview.abdistotle wrote:Is there a difference between group v individual interview? FWIW I was asked for a group interview, told them I can't do that date but I'm willing to do an interview at some point and then I got an alumni interviewscoobysnax wrote:I think it just depends on your location and timing of your application. Has anyone declined an interview request and been accepted? This process seems like a pain ... I'm gonna be half way around the world for the first time in 5-6 years... The logistics of figuring out how to even do a Skype call from there will suck
