Paid my deposit and looking for housing. Besides grad dorms, the places I'm looking at don't have internet connection. Can anyone give any advice for internet connection in Dallas? Sometimes certain carriers aren't as good in certain areas.

I live about 20 minutes south of Dallas (Arlington) and we switched to ATT Uverse from Time Warner. I'm not impressed. Supposedly Uverse is supposed to have the best internet connection nationwide, but for us it usually takes forever to load, and is all around slow. Will be switching back to Time Warner sometime in the future.

Btw has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet? I know 2nd deposit isn't due until May 15th, so probably won't here much of anything until after then.

Internet will either be your cable company or FiOS/U-Verse. U-Verse is not as good as FiOS, but it's one or the other in areas that have fiber.

Just got off the phone with Verizon and they said they don't service the area.

She said it could also be that they have reached their limit of service for the area.

That's what I expect as well. I scheduled a tour of campus this week because I heard that helps by showing interest in the school, and putting a face to a name, but we will see.

I was wondering whether it is binding decision if I do deposit the 2nd deposit. Or, is it possible that I decide not to attend after depositing the 2nd deposit?

It should not be binding.

none of the deposit is binding, you can deposit in multiple schools

Bumping this thread. Since the second seat deposit has come and gone do you guys expect any movement from the waitlist in the coming weeks? Based on LSN it's hard to get a picture of when the waitlist typically moves. Anyone with any insight?

Seems to move sparingly and at random.

Both. I'm assuming they are going to have to activate it very soon because of the "trickle down" effect from better ranked schools pulling off their Waitlists. It's pretty wild that nothing has happened yet, however.

The only people I know who got in off the waitlist didn't get in until the end of July/beginning of August. I had a friend who didn't get in until the second day of orientation.
