I wonder how many applicants grow old and raise families while wondering what became of their decision letter from NU.After receiving a decision, please login here to view your letter. Since this will be the only means by which you will receive a decision, please keep your contact information updated.

Is it safe to assume that we won't be hearing any more decisions until January? Johann's twitter says that they're closed for the 24th, 25th, 31st and 1st, with reduced staff manning the office on the remaining days. I'm guessing that the remaining staff is only there to answer phones and etc...

I don't know. They released decisions this week last year, but Christmas and New Year's were also on the weekends. Can you check to see what his Twitter said last year?cusenation wrote:Is it safe to assume that we won't be hearing any more decisions until January? Last year he didn't tweet any blanket statement about the office's holiday hours. He did announce that no decisions were going out on Christmas Day, that the office would be closed on the 23rd and 24th, that some decisions were going out on the 29th. He announced that he was leaving the office on the 31st.
Dunno how much we can glean from that because the 23rd-25th were friday/saturday/sunday respectively. The 29th was a Thursday. What does everyone think?

What's the LSN movement look like last year around this time?

Looks like over a dozen people received decisions on Dec. 29th of last year on LSN, which was the Thursday in between holiday weekends. While there's a good chance that the skeleton crew at the admissions office this year will be doing admin catch-up (since there's only three work days this week, and last year's decisions went out on the fourth day of the week), my unqualified optimistic analysis is that there is an equally good chance that something will go out this week, if last year is any indication. At least, I think there's enough of a chance for us to freak out about it.shntn wrote:What's the LSN movement look like last year around this time?
...it's not like I was going to get any work done this week anyway.

Hopefully we'll hear this week, I was really hoping to hear back before the new year. But at this point I've been anxious for so long that a few more weeks wouldn't matter

FYI for ED-Held Applicants.
I called today to ask about the Status Checker/ Decision Notification System in the event of an acceptance/waitlist/denial from the ED Held list, and they said they would email us with details and a link when they make their next decision. No more checking the NU status checker for me!

In the past for waitlisted applications they've offered some additional essays to write to show interest, however the guy on the phone said "if we choose to do that this year...." which led me to believe they may not? Although it could have just been word choice on his part.

IDK what to do with myself without a status checker to obsessively refresh this week.

I was talking with a friend of mine about the "take a year off and getting better w/e" strategy if I don't get in this year. Next year, Christmas and New Year's will be on Wednesdays, meaning it will probably be like this next year, too, except they won't be back into the office until THE THURSDAY AFTER NEW YEAR'S.danitt wrote:IDK what to do with myself without a status checker to obsessively refresh this week.

ED applicants: did anyone get outright denied/waitlisted? or was everyone held until January?

Lets hope we all get accepted THIS YEAR! Especially because this is my second cycle as it is. If NU puts me on Hold again, I'll end up flying to Chicago for my FOURTH interview with NU Law.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:I was talking with a friend of mine about the "take a year off and getting better w/e" strategy if I don't get in this year. I'd fly to Chicago armed with my whole resume and every amazing macaroni project I ever made in kindergarten to show them how special I was!cusenation wrote:Lets hope we all get accepted THIS YEAR!
