Nice, same here. Vandy is one of the few schools that will foot the bill to get up there (I actually don't know of any others that do, thought I am sure there must be some). Its looking more and more like I'll be living in Nashville for the next three years.

Submitted 11/1, complete 12/7, interviewed a few days after.. is this a bad sign I haven't heard back yet?

Hey guys, I went to LSN and last year people only got their scholarship info in early March. Guess we have to wait a bit more.

And not to burst your bubble or anything Unagi.. but since out LSAT score is one point below median.. I wouldn't expect much. PLus, I hear Vandy does not negotiate. What you get is what you getUnagi wrote:Hey guys, I went to LSN and last year people only got their scholarship info in early March. Guess we have to wait a bit more.

I think some people hear back earlier though, I check out LSN and a lot of people did not put when they received their offers, unless I'm not looking in the right place. I did notice that it seems most people get scholarships, its higher than half on LSN.

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Hi guys! Hoping some current students float in and answer this (ahem, Mags....). ASW is over my spring break so I'm planning to roadtrip down and spend most of the week in Nashville. I'm looking for a hotel in a good area that won't bankrupt me If I'm staying for 5 or so nights. Any suggestions? I'll have a car, but I'd prefer if it's walking distance to at least some coffee shops (I'm planning to spend most of my time being a vagabond writer) and short driving distance to Vandy.

The website lists some pretty good/cheap hotels (one of which falls w/in the per diem that they'll give you for housing too!)franklyscarlet wrote:Hi guys! There's a Hampton Inn an Suites across from campus off of Elliston I believe. Less than $100 per night, plus free breakfast. I'm actually going to be in Nashville this week and staying at the Embassy Suites, which is more a little expensive but very nice as well. Oh, and COOK TO ORDER FREE BREAKFAST!franklyscarlet wrote:Hi guys! Hoping some current students float in and answer this (ahem, Mags....). Definitely check out the Scarritt Bennett Center. It's really close to campus and just about the cheapest option. You can easily walk to Starbucks and JJ's Market (awesome coffee shop that also sells beer). I think you might have to share a bathroom though, haha.franklyscarlet wrote:Hi guys! Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Scarritt is by far your best option. Everything else is probably going to be at least $60/night. It might be slightly hostel-like, but it's a bed. And the location is super convenient.akili wrote:Definitely check out the Scarritt Bennett Center. It's really close to campus and just about the cheapest option.
