Hate to break it to you but my best friend is a 2L at texas and constantly talks about how awful law school people are. We went to Notre Dame undergrad which is pretty notorious for having über suppressed nerd weirdos and he thinks law school is actually worse.

So what is the consensus on scholarship offers? That they come about a week after you get the admit packet, or a week after the initial acceptance phone call? I'm hoping it's the former..

Okay... I got accepted via phone call January 19th and got scholly info January 26 but I still haven't gotten my admit packet... is this normal? Should I call them and see if it got lost or something?

I wouldn't, as the admit packet isn't much of anything. I think it just sort of states the deposit deadlines and what you need to get done before (possibly) attending.

Got the WL offer email this morning I'm probably going to accept it and unless I get in somewhere better I'll ride that bitch to the ground. I'd really like to go to UT.

Lol, anyone who has ever met me (or will at an ASW) knows that this doesn't bother me in the least. I just don't have the personality to believe that there aren't even a few normal people in law school or in any other environment. I graduated from an Ivy League and I'm a URM and first in my family to receive an undergraduate degree and even think about attending graduate school. Believe me, I adapt

But seriously, I don't believe that weird idiots are anything more than the exception to the rule....I tend to find people I can get along with, even if we aren't "the same" *shrug*

On another note, TX gives travel "scholarships" to students with substantial scholarship offers for the ASW and notifies each student indivdually. I got one last year for the same scholarship that I received this year. I didn't utilize it (obviously didn't attend any school) and I haven't gotten word of it again.

Has anyone gotten one yet? Trying to figure out if they still haven't notified anyone or if I'm just not getting one.

What constitutes a substantial scholarship offer?

No idea. Those were their words when asked about it in the FB group. A student called me last week and I had her ask and got the same response and that anyone that is eligible would be contacted individually.
