Hey Everyone,

I got the email yesterday and immediately replied. Within 10 minutes I received a phone call offering me spot off the wait list. Looks like I will be going to AU in the fall.

I sent two letters of rec and had two LOCI that I sent in, each was sent in about 3 weeks apart. I thinkk staying persistent helps. Good luck to everyone.

Congrats! That happened to me as well. So does anyone know if there is a FB page for accepted students... and how do I find a place to live. The AU portal is pretty worthless.

Does anyone know when classes start? I went on to the portal and there was nothing on the calendar.

Thanks!

Did you contact the admissions office before sending in your LORs?

I thought we were suppose to refrain from sending other update items other than those indicated on your application. So I've listened and I see that it's not getting me anywhere. I visited the school and sent in a LOCI. Any recommendations?

Hey Joylax,

A few weeks after being put on the waitlist I wrote a LOCI expressing my desire to attend AU and that I would immediately enroll if offered a position. I also went on to discuss what I had been doing at work and what I had been gaining form the experience. Lastly I mentioned why I thought I would be a good fit at AU I mentioned how I thought AU would benefit me, but more importantly what I would bring to AU and the student body. Both of my letters were structured that way but had different specifics.

The letters of rec that I had written came form my boss who spoke of my growth at work and how I would be a great addition to the school. My second letter came form the Dean of Students at my undergrad who spoke of my leadership abilities and how I had made a lasting impact at my university. I never called the admissions office to find out if I could send additional letters of rec. I just did it. I don't think it hurts to send it in even if they say not to. The very least they will do is disregard the letter. I doubt it will hurt you.

I think that since you visited the school and wrote about that, it should help you out and show that you truly are committed. Good luck I hope you get in.

i was also admitted off the waitlist a few weeks ago, but declined. i wouldn't be too worried about LORs and LOCIs. all i did was send them an e-mail when i was waitlisted saying i was still interested, and then sent nothing since. so fortunately or unfortunately, LORs and LOCIs may hold less weight than you think!

Why did you turn them down?

If you are on the wait list will they eventually make a decision of some sort, or will anyone who doesn't gain admission be dragged along for the entire summer?

Yes you will be notified of any decision of some sort at any given time. Specifically, you can be rejected off the waitlist at any time.

If you're waiting, good luck!

Has anyone heard anything lately? I am still desperately waiting to hear from American. Does anyone have a feel for how large the waitlist is, as well? I am nervous I am wasting my time hoping to get in. Any information is very much appreciated! Thanks!

Are you withdrawing from the waitlist or are you withdrawing your acceptance from WCL?
