Just to go against this "you must write a 5-year plan/Why Penn essay," I am from the West, didn't write one, and am at the median GPA and 75th LSAT. I was called on the first day of calls. Definitely not necessary to have written one.

Did anyone else write the art/literature essay or have any theories about how they'd view that? Anyone who's been accepted so far write that essay?

Congrats to everyone who's heard lately. Hopefully the rest of us will be hearing good news soon :)

You were a first UCR 12/14 too right? It gives me hope that the only 12/14s who have heard had that date as their 2nd update. Hopefully we're just at the end of the pack and we'll be hearing tomorrow or Thursday :D

My only update was to 12/14. I wrote the art/inspiration essay and the 5yr/why penn essays. here's to hoping you're right.

I thought I'd be YP'd but wasn't. I wrote diversity and a Why Penn? Not a five year plan, just a straight why penn

Advice needed. My status still says application completed 11/5. I really want to call admissions to see what's up, but I'm not sure what I'd say/don't want to come off as annoying. My LSAT is above their 75% and my GPA is above their median, so I don't think my numbers are the reason behind the delay. Advice on whether I should call and what I should say would be greatly appreciated!! :D

Edit: Also wrote extra essays.

Yield protection. Short explanation: waitlisting applicants with strong numbers in order to protect their "yield percentage," an input in the calculation of the USN&WR rankings. Yield percentage is basically the % of people accepted that attend the school.

Given your record it's probably good. Not gonna lie, that kinda deflates my hope a little as a fellow 12/14 who didn't move. :(

I just realized there's Wegmans in Philly and it makes me want to attend Penn just that much more.

Don't talk to me about Wegman's. It has been too long.

Edit: immediate sends in Penn enrollment form, no questions asked.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
