Yeah.

Also, yours is really a $12,400ish once you consider the TEG (assuming you're a Texas resident), so it's not bad, almost half tuition.

How likely is it to get the TEG as a Texas resident?

The way I understand it, you get it if you go to a private school and you haven't used the TEG previously for a Masters or other grad program.

Is it a set amount or does it differ for each person?

Its a set amount, but divided equally among the people that apply I think.

I just looked it up on collegeforalltexans.com and it says that it's $3518 for the 11-12 school year.

Given the recent budget crisis, I wouldn't count on this holding through.

Well, all the Texas residents. I think that's how they have like 47% receiving grant aid, but the median amount is $3400.

Not a Texas resident. The great (and broke) state of Georgia.

Got an email with scholarship offer today. I'd love to be in Houston, but it was not quite what I was looking for. Declining my offer tomorrow, so I hope this opens something up for anyone still waiting to hear!

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to TLS but I've been following this thread for a while now. I just wanted to say congrats to those who have received scholarships so far and good luck to those still waiting on a decision. It seems like you guys are pretty in touch with what the admissions/administrative office over at STCL is doing and I wanted to see if you guys could answer a question for me. I was wondering with my numbers ( LSAT 157/ GPA 2.54 (2.9) chemistry) if I had any chance at a scholarship. I know they seem kind of low but I figured I would give it a shot and ask you guys before I said anything to STCL. I was admitted on 03/10/2011, but I haven't really heard too much from them since then. Thanks, and good luck to all!

I want to say with your major, a scholarship would come but your numbers aren't in their 75th percentile so most likely not, but no reason not to hope. Bear in mind their tuition isn't too high for a private.

I'm not sure why you mentioned his major. They probably won't even look at his major when considering scholarships.

Well when I talked to them yesterday they said that they would be sending out the scholarship emails yesterday and today, so you may still have a bit of a chance at a scholarship.

Mornin, Tonio. Hopefully today is the day you get your admittance and I (and txadv11) get some scholarship money.
