I like the idea of it, although I haven't experienced it obviously. Lawyers that I have talked to don't seem to feel strongly one way or the other about it. W&L has a strong enough reputation in the region that I don't think it will substantially help or hurt you just by being there. On the other hand, if you can talk it up / make it interesting, it might be something that could help you in an interview.

165/3.95 full ride with same 3.25 stipulation. GPA seems to be a big factor for them this year...probably also helps being a girl seeing as how lopsided it was last year

163/3.9 accepted last week--have yet to receive letter/scholarship information.

I love the idea. My experience from UG is that the more real experience you can put on your resume, the better. I understand that it is a little different when it comes to law, but I can't imagine that the new 3L could have a negative effect on students. I may be ignorant here, but it seems to me that those who are not going to go the biglaw route will be expecially aided by this program, as it gives us more experience and more time to be out networking.

I submitted this app on 1/14 (6 days ago) just received this email just now:

I hope this email finds you well! We wanted to let you know a decision on your file will be posted online by no later than 5:00 p.m. today. Please monitor your Applicant Status Online (ASO) for updates.

well it's been great dreaming about W&L for 6 days, theres no way in hell my package would be an acceptance or even a waitlist in mere 6 days so that can only mean one thing.

haha, i got the same email and i've been complete since the 13th. Definitely my first reply and it's going to be a reject! maybe i just won't check my status so that I can wait. I wanted my first word back to be an acceptance! haha.. oh goodness..

I wouldn't worry too much. I had a decision the DAY AFTER my application was complete...accepted, just found out with $. Good luck!

Those of you thinking that you are being rejected simply because you only just applied have no need to worry.

It could be bad, but W&L has fantastic turn around times, even for acceptances.

This was one of the reasons I applied

I was actually accepted off the waitlist last year, but wanted to defer a year and they wouldn't let me (for obvious reasons)

edit: Also got an email saying that from now on (people accepted post Jan 6) scholarships "will be mailed within 10 days of your admissions decision" Didn't know if this was news, but thought I would share.

Accepted via status checker and email. Applied 1/10-Complete 1/11-Accepted 1/20 Got to love that timeline. Still waiting to hear back about scholarship information, that will be big a factor on whether I will go there.

Waitlisted, applied last Friday... decision today. Wasn't planning on going unless they offered a rather competitive scholarship. Only applied because of the fee waiver.

Anyone else still waiting for scholly info? The Dean told me mine was definitely mailed out last Friday, but I still haven't received it. It usually takes 2 days to receive mail from VA.
