I went on a tour of the school and sat in a class this morning, and I REALLY want to hear back! I enjoyed it so much and am looking forward to hearing their decision.

Thanks, guys. I didn't think that a campus visit could make such a difference. Maybe it's because I have a soft spot in my heart for DC, but I was so excited walking around campus thinking that I might potentially be a student there! Fingers crossed.Gotti wrote:+1Gemini wrote:Yup! Good luck! Re: GW 2011 Applicants
Just heard back from them today via email...I'm in! Applied 1/25, complete 2/1. My numbers are 3.1/170 for those keeping track. I have no idea how I would pay for this school and I might not have applied had I known parental information was going to be needed for need based aid (my parents are not supportive right now). I hope there is good news with my admissions packet but I am trying not to get my hopes up.

This way, the schools that don't require parent info won't see parent info and the schools that do will see it. But it's the same FAFSA...you're just submitting it twice to different peopleLttleBlakDress wrote: Yeah, I'm seriously considering withdrawing for this reason, because it means all the other schools will consider my parents info, which could make a huge difference in the aid I get at the other schools that receive the fafsa. This isn't how it works...I checked with the Fafsa people. They submit corrections (added parental info) to all the schools you have ever listed, not just the ones listed when you make the corrections.
They told me that once the schools are removed from your list, they do not get updated with new information
Just spoke to FAFSA - if you remove a school from your list, they will not get your "correction" (added parental info)
Also for those (like me) who will submit with 2009 info and then add 2010 info, you can do that twice too (once w parental to schools that need/want it and once without parental info).
You can have up to 30 "corrections" or something - meaning submit it 30 different times - diff info for diff schools etc.

This may have already been answered in this thread, but does GW give travel stipends to preview the school?

I don't think it's possible.

Re: GW 2011 Applicants
I've been complete for over two months now and have literally only received a two sentence email at the end of 2010 to this point informing me I'm headed to the lovely waitlist.

Waitlisted a few minutes ago. I guess I expected this, but it's certainly not fun.
Will probably send a letter and maybe scrounge up another letter of recommendation. Any tips?

Re: GW 2011 Applicants
Just wait-listed via email. 3.33/167, non-URM. I sort of expected an outright ding, so this really isn't the worst-case scenario, I guess. I wonder what my odds are of getting off the waitlist? I am guessing not high with my stats, but anything is possible

Is 167 GW's median LSAT? Or 166? If 166 i'd say you have a shot, if 167 probably none.philswfc2008 wrote:Just wait-listed via email. 3.33/167, non-URM. That's not an accurate statement to make. If you look back at the GW thread from last year, people got in off the list with an LSAT as low as 158. Non-urm's. Remember that they explicitely state that their list is not ranked, so they won't look only at higher numbers before anyone...

Didn't know that. I guess waitlist is a dead zone for a lot of people then.dcbound wrote:FiveSermon wrote:Is 167 GW's median LSAT? Or 166? Re: GW 2011 Applicants
I'm starting to dig into the archives and looking at previous admission cycles, and it appears that GW seems to wait-list a lot of people. I have yet be able to tell how many people they seem to let off their wait-list annually, whether it is a decent amount, or just a trickle

Figured I should throw in at least one DC school just in case, plus possible leverage for the peer school I want.maglialoro wrote:why bother applying?rman1201 wrote:WL today, 3.5/167
