Re: Ohio State 2011 Applicants
it is getting frustrating.. they said at March 17/18 ASD that we should have the financial aid packages from the University by the end of March. I'm still waiting on BC and Fordham to give me their financial aid packages and their seat deposits are this coming Friday. something tells me I'm in for a stressful week

Yes, it is frustrating. I emailed the financial aid office and they said I'd be good up to the COA for loans, but to email the admissions office because I may have gotten a scholarship... have yet to hear anything from the admissions office in reply. I wish all law schools had their deposit dates on the same schedule to simplify things.

I sent in my deposit a couple of weeks ago, but still haven't heard back from them about it. Are you supposed to receive some sort of reply? Should I contact them to make sure they received it?

I got an email with the subject "Thank you for your deposit!" verifying it. You may want to check with them. It's updated in my appstatus.osu.edu as well.AHub1087 wrote:I sent in my deposit a couple of weeks ago, but still haven't heard back from them about it. I'm currently the only one on the official TLS Class of 2014 list for Ohio State

Anybody else notice that the COA and Cost of Living increased today on the Moritz website? I'm hoping that scholarships increase a bit to compensate, but considering I got my scholarship offer by email today I doubt that mine will go up at all.

Making my decision tomorrow.. still no scholarship info from Fordham or BC but I'm sure I won't get an offer good enough to make either of them a serious consideration since they are all similarly ranked. Looks like its coming down to OSU and Cardozo. I can't wait for this stress to be over with!

Yup, I noticed that. Here's to hoping that my wife can get a nursing job at one of the OSU medical centers. Not only would that get my resident tuition starting the second semester, but apparently there is a half tuition discount for employee spouses in undergrad, grad, or professional school.kroger03 wrote:Anybody else notice that the COA and Cost of Living increased today on the Moritz website? Same boat with Fordham. The expense of that school at sticker cannot be justified in my particular case.cj2k14 wrote:Making my decision tomorrow.. still no scholarship info from Fordham or BC but I'm sure I won't get an offer good enough to make either of them a serious consideration since they are all similarly ranked. Re: Ohio State 2011 Applicants
I think they only do the JD/MA right? I don't see the JD/MPA listed.trayball23 wrote:Anyone considering a joint degree from OSU? If so does anyone no the difference between there joint JD/MPA and the JD/MA of public policy?
I'm considering the JD/MA especially because it can be completed in 3 years with no extra tuition costs.

Hey so I stalked your other posts and am curios as to why you chose OSU over your other options(temple, Cardozo, bc, etc) if you wanna be in the northeast?cj2k14 wrote:Withdrew from Cardozo, Fordham and BC. Just withdrew from OSU. It was a tough decision to make, since I'm from Ohio and the in-state tuition was extremely tempting. I hope that an offer (and scholarship money!!!) goes to one of you!

Re: Ohio State 2011 Applicants
Well to begin.. I currently live with my fiancée in NJ and I don't really mind it here.. plus I love the proximity to NYC. Early on in LSAT preparation and while waiting for the scores to come back we talked at length about where we wanted to end up knowing that I would likely attend a regional T1 and would likely have to stay in the area after school. Since she is from the NE and loves NY and Boston I had no problem attending and living in those metro areas. Add to the mix that she will be obtaining her AA next month and transferring to a 4 Year University next fall to complete her final 2 years of study during my 1L/2L so we wanted to find good schools for both of us in these areas. Our mind didn't really change on the NE until we visited Columbus in mid March for the ASD. We absolutely loved the city and enjoyed the thought of remaining in the Columbus area and Ohio in general. Add to that Cardozo didn't really impress me and everything I've read on TLS about dozo was pretty much spot on (ex. top 10% for a decent shot at a biglaw). I don't necessarily want biglaw but I want to be able to pay my loans down and live comfortably and I felt Cardozo wouldn't allow that if I am an average student. In summary.. debt adverse with a significant other. That said.. I feel OSU was the best choice for me fiancée aside. I loved the school atmosphere, faculty and the sense of community at the school. Long story short on the rest...voltage88 wrote:Hey so I stalked your other posts and am curios as to why you chose OSU over your other options(temple, Cardozo, bc, etc) if you wanna be in the northeast?cj2k14 wrote:Withdrew from Cardozo, Fordham and BC. Temple: Cardozo was cheaper, in NYC and ranked a tad higher
Cardozo: A Full ride.. but in a saturated market with plenty of competition.. plus they seemed to love PI and I don't have an interest in PI
Fordham: debt adverse and didn't really like the school
BC: no scholarship offered in 3 weeks since acceptance so I'm guessing sticker.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
