I got in last week with 153 LSAT and 3.5 GPA. Really avoiding going there, last resort.

Why? The school has a pretty good reputation and with your weak numbers (no offense, of course), you probably shouldn't be too picky.

Well I am hoping that a 3.5 gpa from UCLA has a little more weight than that. Major gpa was 3.7

Most of us went to good undergrad schools. My hunch is a 3.5 from UCLA is weighted the same as any other accredited undergrad.

Are you an URM? Otherwise, various law school calculators put your chances at about 50/50, so I'd rethink that whole "last resort" attitude. The coin toss clearly worked in your favor.

No offense, but should be happy you got in. I don't know any other school in Cali that would take some with 3.5 153 (not even splitter status because the gpa is average), except Golden Gate and San Joaquin Valley

littlepiggie818 you should come to UCLA on Feb 6 with copies of your resume and see if you can get an internship for this summer. Also come for the networking. There will be 50+ public interest organizations and tables.

Would they consider someone who is not in law school yet? I would love to have some on hand experience before I start school.

It probably depends on the organization. Just go for the networking. You never know what will happen if you just go talk to the people there. A lot of those organizations can use free help for the summer.

It's too bad I am going out of town this weekend. But if things change, I'll definitely be there. Good luck!

I've heard rumors that law school (as well as practicing law) might require a somewhat thick skin. Consider this site a sort of romper room.

There is really no need to be a baby about it. You came into a thread full of people that want to go to Southwestern and basically bashed the school. If you had great stats, you would just be a douchebag; but with yours, you look like a moron. If you want to get into a higher ranked school, you need to retake the LSAT. A 3.5 at UCLA isn't anywhere near impressive enough to carry a 153 into a T1 school.

EDIT: Or most T2 schools for that matter.

Exactly. I have a 155 and 3.4 GPA (also at a UC), and I was ecstatic to get into SW, felt sorta lucky. Even for end of T2 schools like USF and Santa Clara my chances are dim, so I cant imagine a 153 getting in unless the GPA is 4.0

I've been at "pending decision" since 1/20 and still haven't received anything.

Got accepted a few weeks back, but no notice of money offers. I'm guessing judging from what LSN shows, they don't hand them out until later?

My status is still 'decision pending', but I got a letter from them in the mail yesterday saying they wanted to interview me for the SCALE program. Did anyone else get this, or know what to make of it?

Hey I got a letter saying to schedule an interview for the Wildman/Schumacher scholarship. Does anybody know if this means you are actually going to get one?

I got the same letter in December and had my interview in January. It means you are going to get a scholarship but the interview will help them determine how much to give you. Good luck!
