we aren't talking about the FAFSA forms ... we are talking about the WUSTL Aid forms. It sounds like WUSTL wants you to fill it out shortly after you send your app in.

You need FAFSA to apply for loans. As per the Financial Aid website:

To apply for loans, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and related law school forms. To obtain FAFSA, write:

Federal Student Aid Program
P.O. Box 4038
Iowa City, IA 52243

To file your FAFSA online, go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The Federal Student Aid Program requires approximately four weeks to issue the need analysis to the School. It is your responsibility to secure financial aid forms and to meet all deadlines.

Also the website only encourages you to submit the form by March 1st so you can know if you have a scholarship before the first deposit. As per the website again:

f we receive the completed financial aid forms on or before March 1, we will make every effort to notify you of scholarship and loan awards before the April 1 deadline for first deposit.

The School of Law makes admission decisions without regard to any request for financial aid. We do not, however, award loans and scholarships until after we have admitted an applicant.

If you have any questions about financial aid at Washington University School of Law, please call (314) 935-4605 or e-mail eckrich@wulaw.wustl.edu.

If you want to be considered for scholarships then you could fill it out now. But that seems silly to do now, considering scholarships are only given after you are admitted. I'd still wait until FAFSA forms go online and just do it at once, but that could just be me.

I emailed and asked last week. The lady said you don't need the financial aid form to be considered complete.
I think you still need to do it though, right?

yes - i'd send in as soon as possible. just not required to be considered complete.

I know! Made my day - imagine how happy I'll be with a DECISION!

Looks like my WUSTL app took over 3 weeks to become complete, even though they had everything when I submitted. No worries!!! You'll be complete soon enough!

I must have refreshed WUSTL's status checker page 50 times since you posted that. Damn, I never believed people, but they are right. Waiting for law school decisions is millions of times more difficult than waiting for LSAT scores.

I checked this morning and right after lunch (pacific time) and there was no indication of a change. It now says complete 12/9.
