Re: Fordham Waiting Room
so this question is probably obvious..but bear with my paranoia, okay?
i electronically sent my application to fordham on the 31st of october (in order to make the EA date of november 1st)..
i got my application status checker a few days later and it says " Current Status Date: 11/2/2009"..so i suppose the time lapse was because of Fordham doing whatever it does to affirm my application as complete, but it just makes me nervous that im not applicable for EA because of it. part of me feels silly for writing such just because it, in a way, doesn't logically make sense that i would be penalized for such procedures without prior warning and also because i see a lot of people on here who i think are doing EA and have also gone complete on 11/2, but still..cone someone affirm my delusion? am i EA or shall i have to wait X more unbearable days to find out their decision?

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
You should be. I submitted mine on Nov 1.
On the front page of the app it says "Transmission Date and Time: 11/01"
So for you it should say 10/31

I submitted the same day as you - from my understanding, the date you submit is the date in question, not the day you went complete.miche1esim wrote:so this question is probably obvious..but bear with my paranoia, okay?

However, I feel that a quick call to the admission office could clear it up.

I feel your pain, I realized the same thing the other day. I have 3.2/169, although I did write an addendum because my GPA "should" haha be considerably higher.finalaspects wrote:I just realized, the charts at Law School Numbers are Skewed. I actually submitted on 10/22 and didn't get the "complete" email/status checker until 11/3. They must have just been out of the office for the week -- I think we will be okbeebs wrote:I submitted the same day as you - from my understanding, the date you submit is the date in question, not the day you went complete.miche1esim wrote:so this question is probably obvious..but bear with my paranoia, okay?

At least that's what I tell myself as I check my status at least 5 times a day....

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
So fellow Fordham waiters, I have a question for you:
So, in my application I said I was applying to 8 other schools and I have since decided not to apply to quite few of them. Two of them are lower ranked schools, but two of them, Cornell and UCLA are not. (The complete not applying to list is: Cornell, Emory, UCLA and St. John's)
Should I notify them of the change? I wouldn't care so much except removing Cornell and UCLA make Fordham the highest ranked school. Now, Fordham has always been higher on my list than either of these schools because I do not want to leave NYC, I own an apartment here, I want to practice here, and the industry I want to eventually become involved in is almsot exclusively in NYC. I did say Fordham was my top choice in the PS, but I am interested in everyone's opinion... also, this will give us something to do while we wait for status updates...

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
This is a very interesting question. I was concerned about this section, as Fordham is actually the lowest RANKED school I have applied to but one of my very top choices (I too don't want to leave NYC).RubyDoomsday wrote:So fellow Fordham waiters, I have a question for you:

Normally I am all about transparency, so any changes to your application should probably be addressed. However, I'm not sure how important this section is in the application process, and amending your application might push back any decision. How are your stats -- is Fordham a reach for you? IMO, if yes, I'd contact them about the change. If not, its probably not as big of a deal.
But that's just my two cents, other people might know better than me.

My stats are in range, my GPA is low at 3.42 but my LSAT is solid at 167...my softs are okay but nothing earth shattering like rebuilding a village in Uganda or something.LaurenGayle wrote:

Fellow NYC-er LaurenGayle, are you a long time native, or recent arrival?

Not a native, but been here for 5 years (moved here right after college). Very committed to the area for many reasons, both professional and personal.
Despite never rebuilding a village (seriously? What have you been doing with your life?

Hopefully our LSAT being above their 75% helps A LOT.

Last year there was a 3 week gap between notices. Its still been less than 2 weeks since the last wave. We could have a bit longer to wait

its not 1st on my list - but its better than "alrite" and better for placement into the NYC market than either of those other schools you keep trumpeting around the entire forum to everyone's annoyance, trollEvery1SuxButMe wrote:In at UCLA & UT! Re: Fordham Waiting Room
Dude, I am with bighead715, most people in this topic are here because Fordham is pretty high on their lists, on mine it is first. It's an excellent school, and I know first hand in the NYC job market it carries much more weight than UT and UCLA. But I do have to wonder how much you must feel insecure in your RL to use the nom de plume "every1suxbutme!!!" in a forum....bighead715 wrote:its not 1st on my list - but its better than "alrite" and better for placement into the NYC market than either of those other schools you keep trumpeting around the entire forum to everyone's annoyance, trollEvery1SuxButMe wrote:In at UCLA & UT! Well LSAT is just half of the numbers game. Maybe your GPA is better than most. Keep your head up!webbylu87 wrote:my LSAT seems pretty modest in comparison to everyone else that's spoken up in her (163). let's hope i'm not totally screwed.
