UT just called me to congratulate me. I received the packet in the mail a few days ago, but that was awfully gracious of them.

I thought it was really nice of them to call too

I felt kind of bad. I'm at work, and we're not supposed to take calls if we can help it, so I just said thank you quickly and to have a good morning. So the whole call was like :30... but maybe I'm over-thinking.

Type in Caps Lock and ye shall receive...congratulatory phone call this afternoon. All scholarship materials will be mailed in two weeks-ish from your acceptance package. Nothing else to really do right away, as financial aid materials won't be available till January. Congrats to everyone.

Yes, I checked my status this morning and it had changed... I was really surprised that it had changed on a Sunday!

Application was sent 10/9 and complete 10/16.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster, in via status checker on 10/29...was getting very antsy with no letter and no call (hopefully those will come this week? Florida resident - app sent 10/1, complete 10/12 (PM me for stats)). UT has been my first choice since I went to ACL last year. Very excited to move to Austin and eat too much Juan in a Million. Can't wait to meet my future classmates.

Just checked my mail to find an admissions packet from UT!

Submitted 10/15, went complete 10/23. Admission granted 10/29 (so fast!).

My numbers were just about at or below the medians. And honestly my softs, I thought, were pretty weak. This is totally unexpected.

OK guys now I'm really confused. how is it that i submitted 10/19 and have received nothing besides a "received your application and pulled report." They actually haven't requested my LSDAS report. I called and they basically ignored me saying it is normal. I'm well within their 25-75 and applied EA. Is anybody else in this boat??

I wouldn't worry if I were you. I doubt Adcoms have a robotic way of going about managing the apps they receive. They're receiving a TON by the way. Who knows how they sort apps, and in what order they review them. For example, I applied (non-ED) and one of my numbers is definitely on the lower bound of their range - they quickly completed my file and are reviewing it ED. I have no idea why the turnaround at Texas was so quick for me, but at other schools I am not even complete yet (submitted like 3 weeks ago). Point? It varies from school to school, candidate to candidate.

Additionally, Texas is known to be slow when it comes to updating their status checker. Apparently many folks gained admission and their file didn't say Decision Rendered until after they had gotten their packets..

Yeah I was freaking out about it! I really think sending my app a month before the EA deadline gave me the extra push. I'd better get a call/packet this week (Florida mail...wtf?).

Btw does anyone know when the ASW will take place?

EDIT: Packet came yesterday. Honestly, kind of anticlimactic. Did anyone else find the materials and letter to be uninspiring? Maybe I'm just a snob b/c I work in PR and advertising...

I stumbled across this when I logged into my status checker and was redirected to my ut direct home page. I thought it meant I was admitted and FLIPPED OUT. I don't think it means anything though.
