It appears they do not start rejecting/waitlisting people until December at the earliest. This is just me skimming over last year's cycle on LSN.

Just so all you guys waiting on UCLA know, I was accepted via snail mail packet like two weeks ago. I never got a phone call from them. The snail mail packet was the first contact I'd had from them since I got a "complete" email on 10/14.

Just talked to an admissions officer at UCLA, they will not review my file until December. I'm starting to panic, what if I do worse.

1) You won't do worse.

2) If you were to come up on the short end, they only report highest score anyway!

When did you apply? Go complete?

Pearalegal is referring to the fact they are retaking, not because they applied on a specific date. They won't look at their app until after the retake.

Yup. I applied 9/15. I was hoping some schools might take a look at my application, or at least note that I was super eager to pay $82 dollars to apply to their school.

To those waiting on the call (I received mine last night), I think UCLA's dean has moved to Chicago (or at least has a Chicago area code) because I got the call from a 312 area code.

Their dean was poached by Chicago and will be full-time there starting in Jan, but their dean of admissions, Schwartz, is still at UCLA.

I got an email that my application was received on 10/20, but nothing as to whether it's been marked "complete." Is this normal?

I would call. It was only 4 days between my received and complete emails. It's been 3 weeks for you.

I don't know. Most likely they won't look up your file if you call anyways, you'll just get a standard answer. If you aren't applying ED then I'd wait a couple weeks. I applied to USC on 10/20 and still haven't gotten a complete from them. I think it's just luck of the draw.

Well, I called, and I assumed I was talking to the administrative assistant... nope, the guy who answered my phone and looked up the status of my file was the dean of admissions.

I hope I didn't sound too stupid... I definitely stuttered a bit. But he was super friendly and asked me to check in in a week or so. =)

getting really annoyed at their admissions office. i STILL haven't gotten a complete email, so I called today to ask. The woman I spoke with said that it looked like everything was in and she wasn't sure why I hadn't gotten a complete email, so she said she would investigate and email me later to let me know.

never got that email.

The EXACT same thing happened to me! I had to bug her twice to get a complete email...seems like it doesn't have much love for our numbers...
