Honestly given the huge bump in applicants in general + the economy, i don't know why any school would need to be recruiting.

The number of applicants isn't drastically different, and there's still only the select few vying for the top spots. It's like a mouse chase for non-t14s to scoop em up.

why do you think the number of applicants isn't up? my guess is that it is due to how the economy has been. have any evidence to the contrary?

UGA now telling me my app is being reviewed by the committee after being told the other day that I needed to apply. I guess they're fixing everything after the website change.

Boo_pragmatism, I kid you not. But to be fair, I have fairly mediocre softs and two arrests on my record (public intox, DUI), so I'm not exactly the perfect candidate. I don't even have strong feelings towards Duke, but I definitely thought that my numbers would make it a slam-dunk.
