I didn't. I have good "softs" I guess, and my PS focused on a life-altering event that basically kept me out of college after HS for three years. The type of terrible thing people start threads about wishing they had happen to them.

Sorry to hear that. It is honestly better, though, to approach UVA this way than to pin your hopes on their WL. I had a friend on the WL last cycle who applied ED and worried for months (visited, wrote LOCIs, etc) to no avail - he was "released" via email 7 months later. Anything can still happen, but you're smart to just move on.

If you don't mind, what was your exact GPA, down to the last decimal point?

If you apply ED, you are guaranteed a decision within 15 days of when they receive your ED contract or your in-state status is confirmed (if applicable and whichever is later).

Sent my app in Thursday, it's complete. My letter is still on it's way there I think, though it did make it out of London according to the tracking site so it should be mid-Atlantic. I have a status checker so I will just look at that til my head explodes. I'm also retaking in December, partially for pride, so they may WL me which would be purgatory. Good luck to everyone else, I'll be checking in. (and of course the only thing that really matters - 3.89/166)
God bless us everyone.

Just submitted ahhhhhhhh! My ED waiver arrived this morning according to UPS and I just submitted my app, I need to know right now!
I'm a 3.51/173 FWIW.
Also, how long after UVA requests your report does LSAC send it?

Why are you ED'ing with those great numbers? I'd go regular decision and try to get some money out of them.

Cuz UVA is my number one choice and didn't want to get YP'd. I would go there over any school sans HYS, which I obviously am not getting into, I trust that Dean Trujillo wasn't lying when he said they consider everyone equally for merit aid.
For wanting to work in Atlanta or somewhere else in the south UVA was the best choice for me.

Congrats to everyone who has been admitted! I was actually admitted RD and I'm super excited, but I wanted to ask this group how long it took you to receive the admit mailing after being accepted by email/phone. I was accepted 11/13 and haven't gotten anything in the mail, but I wanted to hear from others before I harass the mailman or the Admissions Office.

Last year, my letter showed up about two days later (I was living about 650 miles away from C'ville).
Hmmm... See I probably live like 400 miles away so I'm worried about this (and I am a VA resident so I am used to receiving mail in a timely manner from my parents and other friends in the state). Do you think they will be annoyed with me if I call them and ask them to resend it?

Should I be receiving an email at some point about my acceptance, or is it just the phone call?
I would like some tangible evidence just so I know i didn't just dream it up.
