Re: The Official in at Richmond Thread
Got my letter placing me on the "Priority" wait list. I'm so effing confused right now. I'm on wait list at Kentucky and Temple too. And I'm in at Pitt and USC w/scholly.
Wtf am I supposed to do? To secure Pitt, I have to put down $300.
Ah, I wish I only had one choice. It'd make things so much easier.

Agh I'm having an awfully hard time deciding between Temple and Richmond. The cost is essentially the same (in-state at temple, scholly at Richmond), give or take a few thousand. Should I tell the schools this and see if they offer more $$ or is that not acceptable? I already asked Temple for a scholarship consideration.

Re: The Official in at Richmond Thread
You could try it - I asked Temple for more and they said they didn't have any more money to offer. But maybe they just don't like me that much. I'm trying to make the same decision between Richmond and Temple (and GMU), except I'm out of state for Temple. I just got accepted to GMU (also out of state) and I'm trying to decide if I would be an idiot not to go there.apper123 wrote:Agh I'm having an awfully hard time deciding between Temple and Richmond. If you haven't heard from Richmond one way or the other I would call up the Admissions staff (Possible it was lost in travel), I imagine all decisions would have been released, acceptance, rejected, or waitlisted by now since the deposit is due on April 15th.

"We are trying to get all decisions out by the middle of April" - Admissions staff
It doesn't look good though with the deposit due on the 15th and not getting any notices yet. When you do get something, if it is an acceptance, you will have 2 weeks to decide (and not have to decide by the 15th).

One would think so, but it seems lots of schools are still in the process of sending out decisions.adam53 wrote:If you haven't heard from Richmond one way or the other I would call up the Admissions staff (Possible it was lost in travel), I imagine all decisions would have been released, acceptance, rejected, or waitlisted by now since the deposit is due on April 15th.

Wait....what? Richmond has a "priority" waitlist? Has anyone else gotten this? What did it say?paulmar wrote:Got my letter placing me on the "Priority" wait list. I'm so effing confused right now. I'm on wait list at Kentucky and Temple too. And I'm in at Pitt and USC w/scholly.

Re: The Official in at Richmond Thread
The letter had a "PS" at the bottom: Saying that I would almost certainly get in, as soon as spots open up. This all starts the 3rd week of April for Priority wailisters.albieman wrote:Wait....what? She also said that they selected much fewer than other years, and that they were only to admit 211 people until after scholly deadline, etc. She then said the Dean instructed the Committee to select the most qualified candidates for a "Priority" waitlist.
Also, the stats for this years outright offers of admission (probably those of you that got calls): Median LSAT was a 162 and gpa a 3.46.
So, they said I'll probably get in, I just have to wait. It's a tough decision. Spoke with a US Attny today at my mom's wedding, and he's the DA for my hometown and he said Richmond is THE place to go if you want to practice in VA. There are many circuit court judges who are graduates of Richmond. I'm thinking that if they let me in, I'm going to accept even though I have these huge scholarships.

Man....I got a similar letter but is said nothing of a "priority waitlist." It did mention that reduced number of admissions offers, LSAT scores, etc. Also, there was a part about how only qualified people were put on the wait list. That makes me nervous, as Richmond is my 1st choice.paulmar wrote:The letter had a "PS" at the bottom: Saying that I would almost certainly get in, as soon as spots open up. I'm on the priority waitlist too, but I think I'm just going to withdraw.

And your wait list letter had text specifically saying you are on the "priority wait list?"

Re: The Official in at Richmond Thread
I just received a Priority Waitlist letter and it does specify at the top that I'm on a 'priority waitlist'. I wonder how many are on this 'waitlist' because the letter does make it seem like if you still are interested in Richmond, it is likely you will get in.

Re: The Official in at Richmond Thread
i'm going to withdraw next week so hopefully that will clear up a spot for one of you priority waitlisters and free up 60k in scholly $ for those already admitted.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
