I wouldn't underestimate the power of your LSAT score with admissions outcomes. You are a super splitter but the kind that will yield you many offers I am sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!rowdy wrote:Lol in the game of admissions, some of you are going to straight up clown on me and you know it. You're all in a great place. If you don't have a poison pill in your application you'll have plenty of options.

Both are acceptable. For my why X to UVA last year, I mentioned the proximity to the DC market since that's what my post-LS target is. They admitted me, so I can't help but think it was fineNavyNuke wrote:Quick question-- Do you all think that a why x essay that discusses why the area the school is in makes sense for you is a good idea or should they be more about the school itself (like a particularly strong program area or clinic that interests you)?
tbf, no one *chooses* Cornell and Berk doesn't have a named full right?Delano wrote:Sick burn to the schools ranked 11th, 12th, and 13th this year.
Idk a partial at Berkeley or UCLA is probably my ideal realistic outcome for the west coast placement and my statsFuture Ex-Engineer wrote:tbf, no one *chooses* Cornell and Berk doesn't have a named full right?Delano wrote:Sick burn to the schools ranked 11th, 12th, and 13th this year.
Duke/NU tied for 10, so everyone is happy right?

Too many special snowflakes at Berk. I thought the running joke was that Cornell was the red headed stepchild of the ivies? (maybe the office just made me think that)Alexandros wrote:What did Cornell and Berk do to you?Future Ex-Engineer wrote:tbf, no one *chooses* Cornell and Berk doesn't have a named full right?Delano wrote:Sick burn to the schools ranked 11th, 12th, and 13th this year.

I'm writing for every school for which I have real and convincing material. If it's half-hearted I think it hurts you more than helps.heyduchess wrote:Checking in!
Are you writing Why X for every school? My PS is pretty much done (I'll be revisiting it on a weekly basis for edits and revisions until September and it's already in the hands of people who offered to look over it) and I'm wanting to knock out as many essays as possible.

Probably only writing for those schools I'm legit likely to attend. Last cycle I did some extra essay stuff for MVD Gtown, uChi. This cycle probably will only put stuff up for MVheyduchess wrote:Checking in!

Probably most of the t14 except for a couple that I'm a bit less interested in, and HYS since I'm under the impression Why X is a no no there (?).heyduchess wrote:Checking in!

Nope, just SLS, Chicago and Michigan, and maybe NU.heyduchess wrote:Checking in!

Is a Why X a good idea for SLS? It's definitely one of my #1s but idk what TLS common wisdom is on that.dm1683 wrote:Nope, just SLS, Chicago and Michigan, and maybe NU.heyduchess wrote:Checking in!
