Anyone got any further on this, as far as what class size expansion means?

given the uptick in 165+ scorers, they were probably able to "go back to normal." the 267 class size last year was really small for them -- http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/michigan/. as you can see, historically, they usually had a class size of at least 315.UghNonAmus wrote:RamTitan wrote:Since their class size went up, is it safe to speculate that those at median or below are treading dangerous waters for admission?

Oh so more people are applying and thus people around median/splitters are probably a tad less likely to get in? Re: Michigan c/o 2020 applicants (2016-17)
well not necessarily. it seems like UMich responded by increasing their class size, so that would offset the increase in apps (assuming they didn't have a higher than expected yield).UghNonAmus wrote:Oh so more people are applying and thus people around median/splitters are probably a tad less likely to get in? I guess not to each of us. Something was handwritten on my note.zeglo wrote:I agree. Also, there is a specific note to each of us? From what it looks like, it's just a normal letter that happens to have our name on it, which of course can be done quickly in Word or professional mailing programs. Either way, the school looks like Hogwarts.brinicolec wrote:Also got a packet in the mail. Liked that it had a little note that was specific to me. Wasn't really sure how I felt about U Mich because I'm kind of over the whole college town thing after being at UNC for undergrad but, can't lie, that 100+ reasons booklet (or whatever you want to call it) kind of sold me on the school lol.zeglo wrote:I got a beautiful packet in the mail today that was part of getting a fee waiver.
However, I still haven't gotten a status checker email, and I applied on September 1.

Also received unsolicited packet in mail, had a fee waiver, and talked about my URM status, handwritten note on bottom as well.

Pretty jealous of all this handwritten note talk. Mine was just hand-signed.

Has anybody who has applied to Mich not yet received a confirmation email from them? I applied early last week and haven't heard from them

It took me like two weeks to get a status checker email. I applied August 23rd, the first day apps were open, and my application still hasn't even gone complete yet.eastring wrote:Has anybody who has applied to Mich not yet received a confirmation email from them? Oh really? I guess they're slower than others... At least that gives me a relief. Thanks for letting me know!

Just got an email from Michigan that some sort of computer error occurred and caused me not to get the status checker email. Apologized and said I should get it soon. Applied 9/6.

Based on LSN profiles, it looks like people reported decisions starting in early-November.zeglo wrote:Any ideas on when Michigan sends out decisions?

Has anyone's application gone complete yet? I sent mine in on the first day apps were open, which for them was almost a month ago. Still not complete.

Applied ED and dinged last year, but to be expected with my numbers. I feel really good about this past LSAT though, so I'm hopeful! Will be back in a few weeks.

If anyone has any questions regarding UMich, I know a current summer start 1L and she's willing to answer my questions so I can ask her things.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
