Congrats! I saw your numbers on LSN. Mine are virtually identical, just a 161 instead of 160, so hopefully your acceptance is a good sign for me! What kind of softs/LOR's did you have? Would you say they were good? Also, did they include funding information or does it come later?thedon92 wrote:EA!lawlawlaw22 wrote:Nice! EA or RD?MOKE4311 wrote:Congrats! I would say pretty good softs. Pretty involved in the community and had good letters or rec. The email said that scholly info would come in the mail in the next few weeks.lawlawlaw22 wrote:Congrats! In today via email. For me, OSU demonstrated the futility of checking the status checker. I just checked it last night and all it said was "application complete", with the last update date as 12/16. Regardless, I'm happy! Went to OSU for undergrad.

Got email from LawAdmit@OSU, briefly felt extreme excitement, then discovered it was a stupid ad for the dispute resolution program

Is OSU accepting every student? I know they have a high acceptance rate. But at 50% rejection I'd think we'd see at least one or two rejections on LSN. I understand that most people who get rejected don't advertise it, but you'd think there'd be one or two.

Keep in mind also that a fairly low number of applicants (6k or so) actively use and update LSN vs. the total pool of applicants (25k so far this cycle). This rate probably drops off the lower you go in the rankings. I wouldn't worry too too much yet. Keep in mind applications submitted in January are still considered, by most, to be "on time".lawlawlaw22 wrote:Is OSU accepting every student? I know they have a high acceptance rate. keep in mind that some schools do acceptances quickly but hold out on rejections to determine their admit makeup before they can decide on borderline candidatesMOKE4311 wrote:Keep in mind also that a fairly low number of applicants (6k or so) actively use and update LSN vs. the total pool of applicants (25k so far this cycle). 25K total applicants? To all law schools? Where did you find that number?MOKE4311 wrote:Keep in mind also that a fairly low number of applicants (6k or so) actively use and update LSN vs. the total pool of applicants (25k so far this cycle). Again, as of 1/15/16 which is when an influx of applications begins. Expect to see that number jump.

I think admissions started on RD applicants yesterday. Not sure if they are done with all of the EA or just mixing RD's in. But an RD applicant who applied in September was accepted yesterday. Hopefully the rest of us will hear soon. Applied in early November.

I'm assuming that's the case. I'm fairly surprised how many people haven't heard back from them yet. I still haven't heard anything as an EA applicant.TxEx13 wrote:So EA should know for sure either way by friday right?

Same here. EA and my status online has been "File Completed, Awaiting Review" since Dec. 14... Not very optimistic on this one.

They have been late on their EA deadline in the past. Don't get too hopeful about hearing this week.TxEx13 wrote:PeterGibbons90 wrote:I'm assuming that's the case. Was an admitted student last year. They don't negotiate unless you're out of state, in which they may do something about the tutition difference. Raising your LSAT is the only thing that really works.thedon92 wrote:Hey Guys. Anyone know anything about the scholly negotiation process for Ohio State?
Got in again this year EA, submitted right before thanksgiving and got email that I'm in yesterday morning.

why would you EA if you got admitted RD last year and ruin your shot at scholarshipsTiddlywinks wrote:Was an admitted student last year. I'll echo this tho I was in state UG alum and splitter significantly above 75th LSAT and they wouldn't negotiate up at all

EA =/= ED. It's the same as RD but get decision by Jan 30th and first seat deposit is a month earlier. I guess I just didn't wanna wait. I'm pretty sure last year they maxed around 21.5k a year out of 28. I wouldn't be surprised if I get better offers from the T14buckiguy_sucks wrote:why would you EA if you got admitted RD last year and ruin your shot at scholarshipsTiddlywinks wrote:Was an admitted student last year. Any other EA applicants still waiting? I don't see the point of having an EA decision deadline if they're not going to process the applications I before the deadline.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
