Re: UMaryland Class of 2019
this is getting really disheartening. I applied 1/14 and have been in review since 1/19, in-state and I haven't heard anything.

Re: UMaryland Class of 2019
would it be too much to call/email and ask what up with my application seeing as it's been "in review" for nearly two months? I'm just kind of worried that the same thing that happened to toetotoeonbirdlaw who had gotten that waitlist email two weeks late may have happened to some of the rest of us who have been in review since Jan. I actually want to go to UMB so I hope that's not the case

I wouldn't. I am waiting for 2 other schools that I applied to 1/6 and 1/7 respectively and still have not heard back from them yet.

Re: UMaryland Class of 2019
I can't even begin to figure out how people who applied after got in before unless they are going by numbers (LSAT/GPA) and working their way down. I will say this though, if the deadline is indeed April 15th, these people need to move their asses with decisions.dcshawd wrote:oh okay true. it's just weird that people who have applied later than January have already gotten their decisions lol. With regards to seat deposits, I was accepted back in mid-February and in my acceptance package 1st seat deposit date is listed as 4/1.

Re: UMaryland Class of 2019
I guess my concern is how would paying my initial seat deposit impact any negotiations I have in the future?
I understand that paying the seat deposit, is essentially saying that I plan to attend the University. However I am still in the negotiation process. The admitted students day is at the end of the month, very close to the April 1 seat deposit date.... If I get another solid offer would I still be able to use that in negotiating with Maryland even after paying the seat deposit?

Yeah, I'm in-state, so that might've helped expedite things for me.tezzeret wrote:I am OOS UR 1/19 so I'm in the same boat.WaitWaitDontSay wrote:Are you in-state? I was accepted around Mid-Feb and sent my FAFSA few days later; however, still no word on my scholarship info.
Am I like the only one having issues with finding out my $$ info here?

No kidding. I applied to 13 schools and this is the last one. Conversely, time doesn't really mean too much in the sense yesterday I got both an admit and a WL so who knows what to expect with these guys.WaitWaitDontSay wrote:Um....Maryland...please put us out of our pain please

I was also accepted mid-Feb. Still waiting on any news about money...
But I think UMD is closed for spring break this week. I'm hoping for some news on Monday/Tuesday of next week.

Anyone have any luck emailing about scholarship info? Curious to see if that's helped move the process along.

I think just hearing back from them period involves luck. I've been in review for over 2 months...lawschoolkid0122 wrote:Anyone have any luck emailing about scholarship info? Curious to see if that's helped move the process along.

I emailed a couple weeks ago and they said that they were hoping to get more awards out in the next two weeks, so there's that.lawschoolkid0122 wrote:Anyone have any luck emailing about scholarship info? Curious to see if that's helped move the process along.

Scholarships, from what I understand, are determined by the Admissions Office. If you want, I'd try them and see if you have any luck there.icerink wrote:Good to know this, thanks. Merit based is from the Admissions Office and Need based is from the Financial Office. Anyway, direct phone call with the right person seems to be the answerwoodchuck78 wrote:Scholarships, from what I understand, are determined by the Admissions Office. March 29th? My acceptance email said admitted students day is this Saturday, the 26th, which I'll be out of town for. If something were happening on the 29th that'd be great, because I'm actually free to go then...alohalaw wrote:Anyone attending the open house on Mar. 29th?

Re: UMaryland Class of 2019
Sorry you're right. It's the 26th. I wish I had the opportunity to attend the one earlier this month, but I was out of town at the time. Kind of sad that this one is so close to the Apr 1 deadline.Cosine12 wrote:March 29th? My acceptance email said admitted students day is this Saturday, the 26th, which I'll be out of town for.
