Hey everyone! I was accepted a few weeks ago to UNC law. I am OOS so I was pretty excited when I got the email. I am coming up from Florida to tour/visit next week. Any ideas/suggestions on things to do while in the area? I will be staying in Chapel Hill for 2-3 days. Thanks!

Campus is cool to walk around, the basketball museum is pretty sweet, should definitely try to eat at Top of the Hill (TOPO) and if the weather is nice, Merritts. Lots of bars up and down Franklin, unfortunately the iconic one (He's Not) is temporarily closed but will be reopened in a few weeks. TOPO seems to be the law school bar and has a "back bar" area that I like

Rejected yesterday (my birthday, ironically). LSAT = 75th and GPA > 75th. In state. Went to visit last month and they said the only hold up was a couple of committee members wanted to revisit my C&F disclosures, but that they had a good feeling on the outcome.

Very disappointed as UNC was my first choice. I've applied to more than 20 schools and this has yet to be an issue elsewhere. I've also consulted with several C&F attorneys, and they all agree I will have no problem with the bar. My advice to future applicants: ask if you can supplement your application with any official documents relating to the C&F issues. This did not occur to me until afterward, but maybe it would of had a determining influence. At any rate, good luck to those still waiting.

？ If they play yield protection (given your stellar numbers), they can hold you or put you into the waitlist and see whether you will show further interest in UNC.

Found out around 11AM this morning I made it off the hold list with a little $! UNC was my number 1 and I am so unbelievably pumped right now!

Congrats! I got put on hold at the beginning of Feb, so I hope they change their minds soon. UNC is my top choice.

I will also be at the April 8th Admitted Students Day! Anyone have any recommendations on where/when to look for places to live off-campus? Currently, just using their Housing page as a guide.

Sorry, just having a little trouble understanding what you're trying to say. Are you insinuating that they rejected me for yield protection?

Think they are saying they are as surprised/confused as you are and would have thought you would've just been waitlisted/held rather than rejected.

Congrats to everyone, the school is awesome and I will probably end up here. Random, but I like that they publish way more employment data in their official reports than required, especially compared to other schools.

I emailed them, the response was basically "we can't negotiate right now but once we have a better idea of our scholarship budget we may be able to offer more money". Not sure if anyone else had the same response

Does anyone know if the seat deposit date is flexible/ can be pushed back? I need to visit before I make a decision, and cannot go next week (spring break), and the week after that I have something going on in my class on Monday that I cannot miss (assuming I visit over a weekend and return Mon/Tues.). Should I call and ask?
