Thank the gods for LSAC's stupid self-reported GPA system.

Yeah being in somewhere by October would be the dream.

Are PT applicants not required to do an admissions interview, or am I reading it wrong?

Not positive but think it was an optional scholarship interview

Well, the admissions page suggests it's mandatory:
Duke seeks to identify applicants who demonstrate leadership and engagement. Most successful candidates show sustained and meaningful commitment to one or more fields of interest to them. For these reasons, an interview with an admissions officer is required for admission to Duke Law.
But no mention on the email or page describing PT!

I think PT admits, "provisionally admitted" using their terminology, do an interview later on to formalise the acceptance and for scholarship purposes.

But seriously what are the average stats for PT? I'm well above the 75th LSAT and right below their median GPA. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME DUKE?!?!

https://law.duke.edu/admis/faq/#interview wrote:Do you conduct interviews as part of the application?

In specific instances when the admissions committee determines that additional information would be helpful in making a final decision, applicants may be invited to visit campus for an interview. These interviews are optional, and offered by invitation at the discretion of the admissions committee. Candidates who do not receive an interview invitation are welcome to visit the law school for a tour, and may make an appointment for a non-evaluative informational meeting with an admissions officer.

What are they using for gpa? The very wide, self reported range on LSAC website, or the one on your transcript once it's received by LSAC?

Checking in I'm not applying until December. I'm unsure how much of a disadvantage that would give me. My GPA should be hire then though (2 A's coming in from Studying Abroad and taking an easier course load).

Those are pretty much my stats too, but I got it. Weird.
Hey all...I'm a soon-to-be 1L. The issue of PT comes up every year it seems. A lot more factors into PT than just hard numbers. UG degree, geographical location, age, military service...this is just some of the information that is available to the school through LSAC. So it's another way to try to diversify their incoming class.

If anyone has any questions throughout the admissions process, feel free to PM me. I had kind of a bizarre experience last year, and it was incredibly helpful to be able to ask people who had been through it before.

I'm not planning to submit apps anywhere until mid October anyway so if the waves are a thing I'm hoping for a late wave PT invite
Last year, there were waves apparently.

So for those of us bubble candidates who didn't get PT - what's the plan? I'll still likely apply next week.
I'm not applying until I get at least a fee waiver. I like a lot about Duke, but it's not my top pick, so I'm not super stressed about rushing it. I really like the idea of PT though, since I am considering Duke and it would make the cycle a lot less stressful to have such a great school already tied up.

That being said, I currently hate Duke and hope that Rosco and Boss Hogg finally get its compatriots. Unless it gives me PT of course.
