Received Wl email today trying to gauge interest.

I got released yesterday after not responding to the interest email a few weeks back. May have just been a deadline to cut those who failed to express interest. Had been meaning to withdraw anyways, so no biggie

I wish that people in your situation would withdraw sooner rather than continuing to take a spot on the waitlist, if you know you're going to withdraw. It's things like this that drag the process out across the board. I made all my withdrawals the day my first deposit was due.

Chill out. I withdrew from most of my WL schools way earlier, but had been waiting for some financial aid stuff to get finished before withdrawing from a few other ones - Michigan included. Got all the $$$ stuff taken care of a few days before the Michigan WL interest email, which I let be, (correctly) assuming they'd cut me at the June date if I didn't express interest. I doubt me taking the time to contact them to remove myself would have made things any more expedient for anyone in this thread; it's a slow process regardless.

I'm glad to hear you made all your withdrawals on the date of your first deposit, though.

You're right that you alone are not responsible for the lack of expediency, and I don't mean to single you out. But together all the people who do this drag the process out.

Also at the risk of outing myself, I live less than 100 feet from admissions and see many of their staff at bars from time to time. Not going to Mich, but I feel like I share a bond with everyone ITT as a result of that.

Our second deposit deadline of June 15 has now passed, and with the exception of a handful of people to whom we have given extensions, we have a pretty firm sense of how our incoming class is shaping up. We plan to make a few additional offers in the next two weeks. We appreciate the updated information many of you have provided, as well as your continued patience.

Hey everyone,

I've been a long time lurker but decided to finally post and maybe offer some of y'all some hope. I was waitlisted and after taking a job with AmeriCorps, I decided to ask for a deferral. I was granted a deferral on Friday (June 19), so there is definitely still movement. I was far below the medians for both LSAT and GPA, so I like to think Michigan really means it when they say more than numbers matter. I sent in two LOCIs and made it very clear that Michigan has always been my dream school. I know how difficult it is to be waiting but don't give up yet!
