For post-1L scholarships, there's just this giant list, that I think is available on the website. They're relatively low dollar value, and some of them are specific to certain things including your background, need, or what type of law you want to do. You can apply for the general category pretty easily, but for each specific one you have to write a separate, but short, essay.

Re: Colorado Law - Boulder C/O 2018
Is it difficult to negotiate scholarships with Colorado? I have a full ride at a T30, and I only received $40k from CU, but I think I'd like the location a lot better at CU than at the other school so I'd probably go to CU if the gap could be narrowed to a $20k difference in cost of attendance.

Yes, it is difficult if you already have whatever the top package is (like 24/12/12 still?).DaRascal wrote:Is it difficult to negotiate scholarships with Colorado? It does seem like those are the top packages. I'm instate and was offered 1L tution, 2&3L $10K, but on LSN it looks like some people reported $90K and one over $100K?LeDique wrote:Yes, it is difficult if you already have whatever the top package is (like 24/12/12 still?).DaRascal wrote:Is it difficult to negotiate scholarships with Colorado? Unless you're that one student a year that gets over full tuition (according to their 509).

Is there any situation where going to CU Law with that amount of debt would be a rational decision over a full ride at non-T14/UT/UCLA/Vandy T1 school?

Re: Colorado Law - Boulder C/O 2018
I think they offer the true full ride scholarship to more than one person per year, but it's like three at the most. Otherwise it's that almost full 1L tuition OOS/full tuition IS then ~10k/yr after. Whatever the numbers are on that package will become pretty clear if people post the offers ITT. You might be able to negotiate up to that package, but you won't be able to negotiate above that package.
Yes, if you want to work in Colorado & understand what that means (see discussion on this above).DaRascal wrote:Is there any situation where going to CU Law with that amount of debt would be a rational decision over a full ride at non-T14/UT/UCLA/Vandy T1 school?

Out of state, offered full tuition first year ($36,500?), $11,500 each year after. Sounds like that's the big package save the very few full rides they send out each year. Happy for the offer, but a little surprised they don't have more that would limit the $40k hit that would mean 3 years would bring. The list on their site of potential 2nd and 3rd year scholarships don't sound very promising. Very specific criteria for most.

I think it's pretty easy to get like $1-2k from those scholarships. It's not as much as they make it sound when you try to negotiate—they explain the drop as being based on those scholarships and in-state tuition during 2L & 3L. It clearly doesn't make up the difference, but do include the switch to in-state in your 2L & 3L years. I'm not sure if you did.rkspurs21 wrote:Out of state, offered full tuition first year ($36,500?), $11,500 each year after. I've posted this before, but obviously the good side of the scholarships being front-loaded is you lose much less if you decide to drop out for whatever reason.

Admitted with $40k (20/10/10) in merit scholarships. 162/3.64, for those of you interested. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

Not completely true. It's not easy to negotiate above, but it's possible. You might be able to negotiate up to that package, but you won't be able to negotiate above that package.

I got an email yesterday about a $350 stipend for flights. I'm all the way in PA, not sure if that makes a difference or notdjanote wrote:Does anybody know if they typically provide travel stipends for these events?rebexness wrote:ASDs are March 13 and April 10.
