Re: University of Arizona James E. Rogers C/O 2018
So my online application status with their website just went from committee review to decision rendered, yet no email has been sent. Has this happened to anyone else? And is this a bad sign or is what it is with an already confusing process.
Edit: Just went over the status website again one more time to be sure and it says they mailed out a decision letter, do they really not email in this day and age?

I got an email from them. It might just take them a little while to send it? Fingers crossed, hope it's good news!Monster1776 wrote:So my online application status with their website just went from committee review to decision rendered, yet no email has been sent. Think I will soon find myself on the WL. For those of you on the WL, how much communication are you having with Admissions? A single LOCI? Anything more?

Are they really still doing waitlists this late into the game?kptibolt wrote:Think I will soon find myself on the WL. For those of you on the WL, how much communication are you having with Admissions? A single LOCI? Anything more?

I spoke quite a bit with Bianca, I got the vibe that I wasn't quite what they wanted. She was also pretty proud of a story where they took a WL off the day classes started which kinda turned me off to dealing with Admin at UA.Monster1776 wrote:Are they really still doing waitlists this late into the game?kptibolt wrote:Think I will soon find myself on the WL. Anyone know if they're living alone or with a roommate yet? I can't decide which one would be best for 1L year. Also, anyone know any good areas to search for apartments? Ones I'm finding online are either crappy off-campus housing or 20ish minutes away, which might be too far.

You can find decent houses in the area just north of the school. You'd probably need to find a roommate to make them affordable. There are pretty decent apartments that are a little farther from campus. My wife and I like our complex which is kind of near the school. It has a fairly decent gym and a gate around the complex. Depending on where you are in Tucson, a gate around the complex to keep out the vagabonds is nice.hermione92 wrote:Anyone know if they're living alone or with a roommate yet? Withdrew with a full scholarship. Hopefully that opens up some money and a spot for someone else!

Just got a call from them yesterday, sounds like they're going over their last few wait-lister with a final decision being made in the upcoming week. Hope one of us gets lucky lol.sometime82 wrote:Anyone off the WL ?
Definitely appreciate it haha, got a call yesterday from them, sounds like the few people dropping out at this point is opening up things for the few that are still being considered on the wait-list. What'd you think of the school/campus by the way? Did you ever take that visit?WichitaShocker wrote:Withdrew with a full scholarship. Hopefully that opens up some money and a spot for someone else!

I hope you get some good news soon! It seems like a great school, but I never actually made the visit. Just took a visit last Friday. Went back down today to apartment hunt. Law buildings were very nice and north of the rest of the campus. Rest of campus was also very nice and well-kept. Surrounding area is far less desirable. Had to go about 15 minutes north for nice apartments.Monster1776 wrote:Just got a call from them yesterday, sounds like they're going over their last few wait-lister with a final decision being made in the upcoming week. For reference as to what I consider nice, I'm from the northwest Phoenix area (Glendale, Peoria, etc.).
I sincerely hope this helps you arrive at your own decision. Be thorough in you apartment/home search. There are definitely some sketchy areas. PM me with any specific questions, I'm happy to help.

Whelp... After pleading through a LOCI they finally let me off the wait-list through email; haven't gotten a scholarship offer yet. Now I have the tough choice of deciding between Tulane or UofA in the next week

Ha, I'm being a bit melodramatic. Just that I miss being in Arizona and truly have an interest in the area.dr1366 wrote:What'd you say in your LOCI?Monster1776 wrote:Whelp... I only sent in one LOCI, and that was two months ago. You think I should send another one in? Or call them? What's your secret? LOLMonster1776 wrote:Whelp... PM me, lot's to talk about. Arizona law schools are supposedly notorious about how they handle their wait-list, ASU being the worst about it.beantheshadow wrote:I only sent in one LOCI, and that was two months ago. Wow... Has no one really done this yet? Every law school I've gotten into has always been on top of that. Always great connecting to people before getting onto campus, especially being from out of state.underthebridge wrote:Wondering the same thing...would be nice if someone had the time to create onermcmanus wrote:Put my deposit down today. I'll go ahead and get on it since I'm in the middle of pulling an all-nighter for a summer class and have no urge to continue working on my term paper right now lol.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
