Yeah that's probably the case. Is anyone in here coming for accepted students weekend?

In via status checker/email. Nothing about scholarship $$ except that they're still in the process of establishing their plan and I should receive info about that by feb 5. Anyone else get the same thing?

I got the same thing this morning. It was a really nice email to wake (no pun intended) up to this morning (I got it at like 7am my time).Trumpet101 wrote:In via status checker/email. There are three this year. Two of them are on Fridays and one is on a Saturday. I don't know what the plan is this year, but with the Friday ones, you may have the opportunity to sit in on a class, which I highly recommend.Shirosham wrote:Ah, very nice. For everyone who got in, admitted students day is a GREAT way to meet people and get a real feel for the school. Some of the people I met that day are my closest friends and gave me some awesome advice that I couldn't live without.
Congrats to all the acceptances!

I also recommend sitting in on a class. I was accepted to both Wake and UNC with comparable out of pocket expenses. On paper, I was on the fence. After a visit to both, I chose Wake because of the smaller class size. I had no interest in being in a classroom with 80 or 90 other students and getting called on. Getting called on in a class of 40 is bad enough.
If anyone coming for ASD is also shopping for housing, my upstairs neighbor is out in June, and I could arrange a showing for one of the Aspen Park places I was plugging a few pages back. PM me if you don't plan on being ridiculously loud next year and are interested. 2/2, 1200 sq/ft, 750/mnth, short walk to campus.

I had a similar experience, although not with UNC (they WL'ed me followed by an untimely ding). I was on the fence between Wake and an affordable state school and the SECOND I walked into the class, I knew I was going to Wake. I ended up having the professor's class that I sat in on this semester (and it was just as wonderful as expected).FacePalm wrote:I also recommend sitting in on a class. I know Wake's is on Saturday, but if you can swing it, try to make a Friday one so you can sit in on a class. Unfortunately, you are going to spend most of your time in class or studying for class, so getting a good idea of what that is actually like is vital.
