A lot of the other schools sent out an e-mail stating whether or not they would remain open. I'm not sure at UF.rubberplant2020 wrote:Does anyone know if admissions will work during winter break?

Any update for anyone? I've been under comparative review for about a month now. Was hoping for a decision by xmas, but it seems like UF's admissions office moves VERY slow.

Re: University of Florida Levin College of Law c/o 2018
I spoke with someone from The University of Florida last week, just to see when I could expect a decision on my application, she told me that the admission committee had gone home for the holidays. So I would not expect anything before the middle of January. However, the person I spoke with said that a decision might not come until late March or even April.
I must say that I am really disappointed with The University of Florida. I submitted my application in September and my stats are above both medians. I have gotten into plenty of other schools, two even offered me a full scholarship. FSU got back to me within a week after going under review. UF was without a doubt my first choice going into the admissions process but as it stands right now I am starting to have my doubts. I think their admissions practices are extremely inconsiderate. If this is the way they treat prospective students I fear that they may be equally inconsiderate to their current ones.
Have a Happy Holidays.

well I was mailed my decision letter on the 17th within a week of going complete. Maybe auto reject, who knows. I just sent them my personal statement. Didn't bother with that "Academic Admissions Statement" nonsense. Way above both 75ths and I'm and alum. I'm home for the break though, so I won't get my letter until January

I've been at "all docs received" since about mid november.
Is that normal...? Or does anyone know anything about their admissions timeline as far as the amount of time it takes to go under initial/comparative review?

Took me about 2 months to go under initial review, another 3-4 weeks before the comparative reviewpenguino wrote:I've been at "all docs received" since about mid november.

Got another one of those prospective student newsletters today.
UF definitely takes a while on their decision making.

Yea but at least it's the same for everyone... Unlike some other schools..legallyrose wrote:Dude, I really hope so...Esp if we turned out apps in September 15th.MikeM-law wrote:Based on last cycle people should start hearing back sometime next week or so...Uschoolqb10 wrote:Got another one of those prospective student newsletters today.

Did anyone else get moved to comparative review today? Is it a bad thing that I did? My stats are LSAT 164 and GPA 3.5. I sent in my application on December 1. Don't know if that matters...

I don't understand why they would comparative review a 164/3.5? That's odd.

That's what I thought... It was pretty discouraging to get that today, but we will see. Maybe my personal statement sucked.Uschoolqb10 wrote:I've been in comparative review forever.scm363 wrote:Did anyone else get moved to comparative review today? Is it a bad thing that I did? My stats are decently high too and I've been under comparative review since November. Similar to what some other people were saying above, UF has really put a bad taste in my mouth with how long they are taking / lack of fee waivers / extra essay. I got into the other Florida schools, like a lot of other people, in under a week from applying in both cases. It makes me really want to choose Miami or FSU over UF because it's taking so long. /endrantscm363 wrote:That's what I thought... It was pretty discouraging to get that today, but we will see. "Final Decision Reached, Notice Issued" as of right now, 1/13/15.
I've been accepted and given scholarship at UM/FSU, so we shall see if I get in at UF today. Still no e-mail or anything.
Looking over other posts ITT, I'm guessing it's a no? Doesn't say "Admitted/etc"

They don't send an email, well at least I never got one. And they never said on my ASO accepted or not, it stays with final decision reached. You just have to wait for the letter to come in to tell you if you were accepted or not (longest week of my life). Hoping you get good news!
P.S. I was accepted so hope that helps lol.
