Just got a call to be Skype interviewed for Miami Scholars... Unfortunately my schedule is insane right now so I wasn't able to schedule anything, but it sounded to me like they're trying to get interviews done within the next week.

Nothing here. Don't even know what to expect, is it usual via email or physical letter?

Congratulations! You know what a 2.5 GPA comes out to relative to the median GPA?

Thanks! I have no idea but it did say 92% of scholarship students maintained above 2.5 after their first year.

General Accepted Nov 5.

Accepted into the Miami Scholars program a couple weeks ago via email.

Received total award info via snail mail this Monday.

>> Miami Scholars - $96,000

Total scholarship to date - $108,000

I don't know where the other $12,000 comes from.

Best of luck!!

Any Reid scholarship recipients considering accepting vs. T14 schools? Would love to see if anyone else is in the same boat and hear his/her reasoning for their potential decision...

I just got an email today from Miami saying they upped me to a Dean's Merit Full Tuition Scholarship (have to wait for the letter in the mail), but I've also been accepted into two T14 schools and still waiting to hear from Duke. So it's definitely making my decision wayyy harder. I'm really waiting to see what kind of awards I get from the T14, because I don't care how prestigious a school is I'm not paying sticker for them.

P.S. I'm not interested in Big Law either so that doesn't make T14 a must for me. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply.

I'm potentially interested in BigLaw, so I'm definitely considering some T14s (even at sticker if it's HS - didn't apply to Y). That being said, if I decide I want to stay in Florida, it's hard to turn down a full ride to Miami or UF. Definitely a good problem to have, but still a tough decision.

Good luck with getting that $ from those top schools!

Accepted via status checker. Went complete 1/10. No scholly info yet. Maybe I'll get an email or a call later today. I checked this morning and it still said complete, so I really didn't ever go under review accoding to the SC. Miami sounds like a blast, but I guess I'll make further judgements when I see the offer they have. Go canes!

ETA: Just got the call. 32k/year Dean's Scholly. Wish they offered stipends for travel to come visit.

Pm for stats

Just got in via status checker.

Applied for the Miami Scholars Program. When do we get notified if we're going to be getting that scholarship?

How long does it take to receive your letter after you've gotten the phone call?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
