I've got a 3.8 GPA and a 175 LSAT, and have already gotten into 8 T14's (including Berkeley) but not a peep out of UCLA. Any thought's on what's up? What would you do in order to get some love?

Hmm you could call to schedule a visit to show them your undying love, if you are in the neighborhood.KissMyAxe wrote:You can be an ass and roll your eyes all you want, but I'd really like advice on how to overcome this YP thing. I am in similar-ish position (same GPA, 169 LSAT), also visited the school (from the East Coast), sent in a Why UCLA? with my app, and spoke at length to the Dean of Admissions at a LSAC fair. I'm not sure there's much I could do in my spot to negate the impending YP...oh well! KissMyAxe you should visit if it's not a big effort (flights + hotels, etc), but I feel the pain, hombre.hereisonehand wrote:Hmm you could call to schedule a visit to show them your undying love, if you are in the neighborhood.KissMyAxe wrote:You can be an ass and roll your eyes all you want, but I'd really like advice on how to overcome this YP thing. I don't think my numbers are YP numbers but I applied early October and have also had zero response. Their website does say "the Admissions Committee does not make decisions on a strictly rolling basis" and that earlier applicants are not necessarily at an advantage. Maybe this has something to do with it?

To anyone who knows/those admitted: Does UCLA provide any sort of assistance to attend ASW?

In!!!! Just now via phone call.
And yes, he didn't go into detail but the dean of admissions mentioned that they offer travel stipends for visits.Tr3 wrote:To anyone who knows/those admitted: Does UCLA provide any sort of assistance to attend ASW?
