Checking in for the first time following a Dec. LSAT. Hi everyone!
I was put in "review" status yesterday. How long has the turn-around time been?

Took about a month for me. That includes the holidays in the mix!organize56 wrote:Checking in for the first time following a Dec. LSAT. Hi everyone!

Possibly attending the open house in February. Anyone know if its worth it to stay in the Iowa House Hotel?

They'll reimburse up to 165 so I'd say probably not. If you want walking distance, the Sheraton or the Hampton Inn are good options. Otherwise, alum tell me that the Cantebury or the Coralville Marriott are both incredibly nice, albeit a short drive away.asb12345 wrote:Possibly attending the open house in February. I just noticed my status checker updated my current status date today and the "thanks for applying" message at the top is gone. I have been in review for a month. Does this mean a bad decision is coming? My application status still says in review.

Has anyone who hasn't received a scholarship with their acceptance received one yet?

I presume by email? Not looking forward to paying their 49k OOS tuition fees in full haha.hdaze wrote:I did a couple of weeks ago.asb12345 wrote:Has anyone who hasn't received a scholarship with their acceptance received one yet?
YP as in yield protection? Most likely. I saw someone in this thread say they got rejection and both numbers were >75.iguazu wrote:Does Iowa YP?

Yea, I figured. Pretty strange considering I'm from a neighboring state, but oh well.

If you were in state it would probably be a different story. Saw someone in the c/o 2017 (or '16) with a 174 who was in state and accepted.iguazu wrote:Yea, I figured. Pretty strange considering I'm from a neighboring state, but oh well.

Same here. Got it by email separately from the acceptance. It came in the mail after as well.hdaze wrote:I did a couple of weeks ago.asb12345 wrote:Has anyone who hasn't received a scholarship with their acceptance received one yet?

I just got my scholarship offer (full tuition) today after getting accepted early last week, so it was just over a weeks difference between acceptance and scholarship email.

I was accepted about 2 months ago. Still haven't heard anything about $$$.
I'm OOS, Lsat just above 75th, should I assume I'm not getting anything?

I'm in the same exact boat as you. I talked with the office of admissions lady when I was calling about open house and brought this up and she said she could forward the call to financial aid and scholarships or I can talk to them personally at open house. I would probably do the latter and post the answer here for those who haven't received any scholly $$ as of late.Okie25 wrote:I was accepted about 2 months ago. Would be a bummer though if I find out right there if I can't receive anything haha.

I went in review on 12/15, but on 1/20 my status checker reset the in review date and my message at the top was gone for a few days. It was weird. Maybe I went into another round of review? Iowa was a reach school for me.Dream_weaver32 wrote:for those accepted this morning, Congrats! when did you go into review?

Re: University of Iowa c/o 2018 Applicants
For those wondering about the timing of acceptance and scholarship offers, I submitted my application on January 7th, was accepted on January 21st, and was awarded a full-tuition scholarship coupled with a position as a paid research assistant January 28th. This was all sent through email. They also sent me some snail mail between acceptance and scholarship notification regarding what they would need from me in order to claim my seat.
I was in the application cycle last year as well and have never had a school move that quickly.
