Just received my admission packet today with scholarship info. Strange that the envelope was open but there was a very nice personal note on the admission paperwork.

I was one of the ones whose acceptances told me that I received a merit scholarship, but that they weren't going to tell me how much yet. Anyone else in this position get their scholarship amounts yet, or are we all still waiting? I was nominated for Woodruff too so maybe that also affects it...

Home market (Miami; Fort Lauderdale). I've applied only back home and in Atlanta, hopefully I can land something soon... (top half).LawsRUs wrote:thanks for taking QsLSATobsessed wrote:1L @ Emory Law taking questions. Ask anything, admissions process, classes, living, etc.

Got my Acceptance package today, normal USPS. With a decent scholarship included. I was nominated for Woodruff, maybe that means I'm not in the mix for that? Who knows

(I'm a relative of an applicant...) It is frustrating that Emory doesn't have a status checker and/or send email regarding application status. USPS delivery is currently sketchy in the Northeast because of the snowstorms and most of the mailboxes in our town are either covered with snow or have been knocked over by the plows

I agree on the USPS part. The post office in my hometown frequently mixes up addresses. Most of the people on my block have to get together to exchange mail every so often, and it's not unusual for people to expect packages that they never see. I wish there was some way I could know whether to watch for anything sent by snail mail from Emory.rlpmcp wrote:(I'm a relative of an applicant...) Just got same email. Wondering what it was all about. Applied 1/2 or 1/3. From the south, Emory would be awesome.

Applied all the way back in November and also wondering what they mean by this email. Do they want us to update applications or something? It seemed to ask us to stay in touch.bob311 wrote:Just got same email. Wondering what it was all about. Applied 1/2 or 1/3. From the south, Emory would be awesome.

Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
No. This was just an email to placate people who don't TLS and therefore didn't see the dean's recent message about decision timeline. Think about a normal applicant who applied in September, has heard back from basically all of his/her schools, and is sitting at compete at Emory without a status checker.bob311 wrote:Should we send an email giving a quick update on like what we are doing?hearsay77 wrote:Applied all the way back in November and also wondering what they mean by this email. I also received the email; applied late October.
So general consensus is to update them with info or not? I can't wait to hear back from Emory. I'm really hoping I'm admitted.

Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I sent them an e-mail letting know that I was thrilled to get their e-mail and thought it merely coincidental that I was on the toilet when it came through. I also told them about the sandwich I ate for lunch and how I gave some to my dog.
I know that might not have been enough detail but given how important it is to be professional and concise I was worried. I asked them to let me know if they needed more information and whether or not keeping in touch daily was recommended.
Taking one for the team here, I will let everyone know what they say.
