Yeah, I did. Sounded like they gave them out based on LSAT alone.
Which is why I'm lowkey mad I didn't get a waiver with my 174...

I don't think it was LSAT score then - I got one with less than a 174 (though still no email from them...?)

I would guess that they randomly sent waivers throughout a range of LSAT scores. Obviously Columbia is one of the top schools in the nation, so they know thousands of qualified applicants will apply, fee waivers notwithstanding. If you received a waiver, it was probably just luck of the draw.

you can go here- http://www.law.columbia.edu/admissions/checkstatus and put in your info. Was that link in your email?

Mine says "Thank you for your interest in Columbia Law School. The Office of Admissions has now received the initial component(s) of your application and has created a file for your credentials. We look forward to receiving the remaining application components and evaluating your candidacy for admission to Columbia Law School. You are encouraged to manage the completion of your file by utilizing our online status check at http://www.law.columbia.edu/admissions/checkstatus. Please allow up to two weeks from the date of submission of each application component for your file to be processed and status updated. "

Then when I go to the site and put in my info, I get to a status checker saying everything is there, but my file is "Pending Completion"
are you missing LORs or something? looks like they're saying you're incomplete.
they didn't send the status checker link for me, thanks for posting it!

It actually says "We have received all the components of your application and are in the process of compiling them for completion. We kindly ask that you allow at least two weeks from the date of your last submission for completion to occur. After your file is “Complete,” you will receive notification of this update by email."

I'm thinking that it's just that if you submitted early enough, you went complete before they sent out the email. I only submitted on 9/18
ah yeah, that's probably it. I submitted 9/2

Yes LSAC sends them in batches like once every week/two weeks.

Although my app is 100% complete on LSAC, I've held off submitting in the hopes of receiving a fee waiver. How long should I wait? I hate that it's just sitting there and I don't want to want until after September scores come out, as it might ever-so-slightly disadvantage my app. Or is that last point a misconception?

I've been panicking about this. Anyone have an idea of when the Sept scores will be out? My 2nd LOR is holding up my application right now... Prof promised he would have it in by next Monday. I guess it's out of my hands at this point

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
