Pretty random but I remember an episode of Criminal Minds where the team was trying to profile some psycho who said that he went to Law School "just outside Boston" I cant remember the profile verbatim but that statement did contribute to their overall profile of narcissism.

Maybe we could get a new poll going soon - how many of us are KJD, 1 year WE, 2 year WE, etc?

Good luck to everyone this time around. As someone who spent way way too much time on this thread last year (and starting classes Tuesday
), just want to reach out if anyone has any questions or needs advice (and I see HorseThief and MDLG and Malleus and Specs and others beat me to it!)

Thanks Harvard 1Ls for being so awesome!
LSATneurotic, want to go any more specific for that poll idea? I'm def open to something new but I have a feeling "Are you paying for law school with daddy's money — yes/no" could be a little more insightful with some modification

Good luck 0Ls! Get ready for a wild, terrible ride. Considering I had a 8 month gap between submitting my app and being accepted, I might be a bit biased towards the "terrible" viewpoint.

Speaking of the money, I am applying with the complete certainty of not being able to financially justify going, even if I get in.
I can't imagine there will be a worse feeling than getting into Harvard and having to say no.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 (2014-2015 applicants)
I like the idea, but there's an option missing that would involve a combination of loans (1) and savings (3) that I feel majority of students would fall into.LSATneurotic wrote: I was reading about the demographics of Harvard students, which inspired my curiosity. I guess the new poll question/answers could potentially be:
How will you primarily finance your HLS J.D.?
1) a $270,000 loan/rope around my neck
2) No worries, Daddy's got this
3) I'm a grown ass man: I pay my own bills
4) outside scholarships

I don't understand this. Why are you applying if you can't financially justify paying for it?MidwestLifer wrote:Speaking of the money, I am applying with the complete certainty of not being able to financially justify going, even if I get in.

I hope you know that HLS has a great LRAP program and offers need-based financial aid; but if one of those isn't enough for you...I guess it's a useful negotiation point with other schools? But idk if it's worth it if turning HLS down is that traumatizing for you.

So I've seen posts from years ago on this, but does anyone know what exactly HLS's policy on multiple LSAT scores is? Are they still averaged? Always, sometimes? And if sometimes, is it known in what sorts of circumstances they disregard the lower score?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 (2014-2015 applicants)
They finally owned up to the fact that they only care about the highest score. From earlier itt:hopeboaltberkeley wrote:So I've seen posts from years ago on this, but does anyone know what exactly HLS's policy on multiple LSAT scores is? Are they still averaged? sneakyleo wrote:Checking in with this little tidbit: from lurking on posts from last year, it was rumored that HLS admissions staff had mentioned at various events that they were taking the highest LSAT, but the website still said "all scores and their average will be reported and considered." They recently updated their website for this cycle, and now the FAQ reads: "The LSAT need be taken only once. If you take the test more than once, all scores will be received but we will use the highest score in our evaluation."

poll added. I simplified the options so I could just make it so you could choose more than one (since I'm sure many of us would use a combination of some sort)

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 (2014-2015 applicants)
What do you all think about getting a letter of recommendation from my current employer - as a reapplicant I want to do everything I can to highlight the ways my resume has improved, but I also want to apply ASAP and I have only been working here for 2 months. My boss would write me a rec, and I am sure it would be good, but I am worried it might carry little weight because of the short time frame. What do you think?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
