Yeah, but if that's their goal and you're below their medians, they wouldn't be taking you regardless of the timeline. Someone with better numbers remaining on or wasting two weeks wouldn't affect that, either (again, unless it's September when time finally runs out).Mullens wrote:I don't think this is necessarily true if it would affect a school's medians. Several schools have reduced class sizes in recent years, and announced they were doing so pretty late in the cycle, in what I would speculate was an attempt to hit certain medians. For example, Northwestern announced in March last year that it was reducing class size by 10%. I guess I just think that schools are more concerned with their medians than they are with exactly hitting a specific number for class size.I'm curious how this would significantly affect anyone else on the waitlist. It's not like if someone with a 178/3.95 (edit: or anyone with any stats, just picked this because it's a good example of someone who probably isn't seriously considering many waitlists) declines admission off of the waitlist, the school will give up on filling that spot in the class. They'll just move to the next in line. And the next, until they're full or class begins. At most it means the next-at-bat waits an extra arbitrary week or two for an offer, and s/he doesn't even end up knowing any better (even ignoring that candidates who know they won't attend a school under any circumstances probably aren't the ones writing LOCIs).

Please consider the employment outcomes for all of the schools you've listed. Also, it might be a good idea to do some deep soul searching. Is law school really the best option for you? Why do you want to go?
Correlation doesn't mean shit, but your GPA and LSAT numbers tell me you might not be capable of succeeding at law school. By that I mean you might not achieve the grades necessary to open doors to the kind of employment you'd need to pay off your debt.
I'm of the opinion that you should just forget what your chances might be, and focus on creating a career and life for yourself outside of the law. If it's public service you seek, why not volunteer in your community? If it's a more satisfying career, why not look into the department of labors employment outlook statistics and choose a career path that offers gainful employment. You can always take classes while you work at a less desirable job in an effort to build the resume necessary to achieve your goals.
Feel free to PM me for any advice, I'd gladly help you carve out a plan that leads you to success outside of the law.

Thanks for your offer man but I don't need advice from someone who ridicules me. Note I'm also applying to PA school at the same time. Just wanted to weigh my options for law school.eljefe1 wrote:A. Nony Mouse wrote:Not helpful.eljefe1 wrote:amohiuddin wrote:Checking in:

Seriously though, I am unsure about any of your chances for a particular school but I am confident you will get off at least a few of them! One of them should need someone of your stats. Shoot high though what have you to lose?? Make sure to hammer out those LOCIs too!

Just telling you the harsh reality. And the harsh reality is you probably won't be a lawyer. Dont waste 3 years of your life in law school, come up with another plan like I suggested above
. You scored a 152 dude. You won't be successful in law school. I hope for your sake that you don't get off the wait lists. It's for you're own good.

1. This forum is about sharing waitlist info, not about critiquing life choices. Please read the title of the forum before you post.eljefe1 wrote:Just telling you the harsh reality. 2. If you find that you HAVE to post, you might as well post correctly. In Law school I hear that they don't take kindly when you misquote cases.
3. The person might not want to be a lawyer, they might just want a law degree. Either way they didn't ask you for your personal evaluation of life choices, they asked what their chances were at getting into these schools after sharing the schools on their waitlists. If you really feel you need to give constructive criticism, do it through a PM and not publicly where it could be construed as embarrassing.

1) if I need to violate your "Internet forum rulez" in order to help prevent someone from destroying their life, I will. Idgaf about your sense of Internet decorum. Lol
2)Wut?
3)if the person is afraid of whatever the fuck you're hinting at, then they shouldn't be posting to a public forum.
4) you should PM me if you have a problem with what I'm posting. By posting your opinion of my posting, you've derailed the thread and compromised your TLS etiquette, an etiquette that you went out of your way to publicly defend.

What ever happened to retake dudes? My first official LSAT I scored a 153 and I took a year off and now I'm happy with where I'm going.amohiuddin wrote:Checking in:

To OP, unfortunately your chances are very slim at getting into a school and if you do it'll be at sticker price. Please please please retake. I'm not going to tell you to reevaluate your choices and goals, as obviously you want to go to law school. However, a little bit of studying for the LSAT can go a long way.
That being said, good luck to you.

Giving retake advice is outmoded. Simple truth is that 75%+ of people that want to go to law school and/or are preparing to attend law school shouldn't go.cricketlove00 wrote:What ever happened to retake dudes? I'd like to suggest that you guys slam someone's options, and/or try to offer advice via PM as opposed to derailing a thread that has little, if anything, to do with 'Choosing A Law School.'
Some of us are interested in WL movement and don't care to read through this crap. /rant

If you're on the wait list, don't go to law school. Isn't the fact the you're on the wait list a strong enough indicator?

This forum isn't for debating the merits of anyone's choices, it's purely to share information about movement in acceptances/waitlists/etc., so people can know what's going on. Any further discussion in this subforum about whether a particular person should or shouldn't go to law school will result in a ban. (There are plenty of other places on TLS for such discussions.)

Eljefe1 has no idea WTF he is talking about. Actually, he seems kind of stupid.
You are a 0L and therefore you have no experience whatsoever and you have no right to give your opinion to others if you have NO IDEA what YOU ARE EVEN SAYING.
I went to UVA. I know people who both had 170s+ and were at the bottom of their class and people (URMs) that had 150s+ and were on law review. IMO. Telling someone not to go to law school b/c of their LSAT is totally ignorant of how things really work. I can see that it's a statistical predictor but in no way does that translate, "YOU SHOULD NOT GO TO LAW SCHOOL." Also, that poster is on here and I'm sure he/she knows the market.
Others: Update your school once every few weeks of your interest. Addcoms do know who you are and you will be at the top of their mind with the more interest that you show. I got into UVA RD but I'm speaking of experience from what I have heard at UVA.

ALSO:
learn to read bro, I said correlation doesn't mean shit. I.e. LSAT scores don't necessarily predict how you'll perform in law school. But apparently that's what law schools use to predict how well you'll do in law school? hmm.
Also, IDGAF about your UVA anecdotes.
That being said...
The LSAT tests basic logical reasoning and reading skills. If you score below a certain level, that might suggest you struggle with said basic logical reasoning and reading skills. Thus, it can be said that you might not have the necessary skills to succeed in law school, an environment that requires the use of basic logical reasoning and reading skills. You can talk to the guy whose post initiated this whole "debate". We're now bros discussing the merits of other professional degree programs, so go fuq yursef.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
