hey everyone, sorry for holding off until now but i was being paranoid earlier and didn't want to jinx anything.

i sent my LOCI monday after business hours, and by tuesday morning i was under review again. by wednesday i saw "decision notification sent" under "Mailings", and then soon after "decision letter sent" as my status. i called the office and all they told me was that there was a ups package coming my way (i'm out of the US so i thought it wasn't a bad idea to call). within a couple hours i could login to ASW and then i got an email confirming the news. today i received the acceptance letter plus deposit instructions via UPS.

i applied around january 19 and went under review soon after, and then again towards the end of january. that was the only movement i had until mid april.

i'm at the median for LSAT and just below 25th for GPA. really shocked about this acceptance but excited nonetheless!

Do you think it would help if I got an alum friend to write a rec for me? I can't imagine it would say anything super substantial, probably just something about fit etc. I'd rather not bother him if it wouldn't make an impact.

the attachment with the WL notification made it sound like the only aid that was available off the WL was need based... which lolkthx

Students admitted from the waitlist will be evaluated for need-based financial aid. Federal loans will be available and all NYU Law J.D. graduates who work in an eligible public interest position are eligible to receive benefits from our generous LRAP program. Students who are admitted will receive a financial aid decision within one week of our receipt of the completed NYU financial aid application.

I didn't think that ruled out merit aid, just guaranteed need-based aid consideration. I guess we'll find out soon enough...

FWIW, there are a few reports on WL-->$ on LSN from last year's cycle. They are:

$25k
2 x $37.5k
$45k (this would probably be a PI person reporting the 37.5 scholly as 45)
2 x $50k

Since these all fall within the "steps" of NYU's merit ladder, I'd take a guess that, yes, there is aid off of the WL.

I messed up and only sent my LOCI and Wait List confirmation in on Wednesday. (I thought I had already done it a couple weeks ago, oops.)

Confirmed on Wait List 5/8 then changed to Under Review today 5/9.

I sent my LOCI/wait list confirmation like 10 days ago and my status check still says DLS with the wait list date....I called admissions and they confirmed that they received it. Should I be worried that my status check hasn't changed to wait list confirmation received?

First DLS 4/17, Confirmed on Wait List (with LOCI) 5/8, Under Review 5/9. LSAT=25, GPA>75.

Does this really mean what I think it means?!?!
