I went in for my interview today and well... I heard from others who had spoken to people in the office that they admitted too many people this cycle and the chances of people getting off the hold list is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY almost impossible. Then another student chimed in and said that they heard the lady in the front desk dissuade someone from flying in to do an on campus interview. I'm glad I heard this AFTER my interview. But it murdered my day. I flew out and have spent so much on flight, stay, and food to hear this? God I really hope it's not true.

Dat Chicago pizza.
make sure you get that Giordano's and Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder pizza pot pie! I like the larger deep dishes at Giordano's over Lou Malnahti's. Lou's baby pizza is great, though (the 1-person size one). LOVE Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinderrr

Essays submitted.

Should I send in a LOCI? I just thought one shouldn't send those until one is waitlisted.

Have y'all read this?
http://www.top-law-schools.com/johann-l ... rview.html

Just thought it was interesting. (Even if it's 5 years old)

Especially interesting:
TLS: You look at the LSAT writing sample?
NU: We actually do.
...
Believe it or not, we actually read them. I know a lot of people blow it off — we see all the writing samples when they come in on the LSDAS reports, and we see some where people just draw pictures on the entire thing. A little stick figure next to a house with a chimney and smoke coming out. That says something about an applicant.

This, I don't think I understand?
NU: One time someone submitted an addendum to me about their grade performance, saying that spring semester of their 3rd year was not indicative of the rest of their grade trend. And basically they had dipped from a 3.9 to a 3.7. So I think that’s an instance where an addendum could be damaging, but generally addendums are a good thing.

I think he means not to point out small things that they would otherwise have not seen in the overall GPA. i.e. it's better to see a 3.5 than seeing you got a 3.5 b/c you did badly one semester.

My guess would be pointing out why your good gpa wasn't higher because you had one pretty good semester makes you come across as a neurotic try-hard. Also you just submitted an addendum that's purpose was to explain sonething that didn't need to be explained. In short, don't come across as a neurotic weirdo and don't make adcomms read extraneous BS.

So...If I got held back in late March, and I didn't have time to submit addendum essays, is it too late? I guess I should probably give up all hope of getting accepted if I don't submit any more new essays? Lol maybe I should just withdraw...but I really don't want to give up entirely;;

Better late than never. Though I do think NU is one to auto-ding if you don't attempt any essays unless you are held for YP

I didn't submit that one because.. I just can't fathom this question. I've decided to tackle it via video. I did the other three, submitted a LOCI, and am waiting on someone to help with an LOR. How long should I wait before submitting LOCI number 2, is 2 weeks overkill?

You mean, if you wait 2 weeks from held-->submitting LOCI? Are you asking if it's too quick or took too long? Just want to be sure I understand what you're asking.

I think either way, you're fine.

I think that aside from retaking the LSAT, if we all get our shit in by end of April then that's fine too. I really don't think there will be any decisions tomorrow or Monday (Easter means people take off one or both days...) and MAYBE there will be some next week but I kinda doubt it. I think it'll be early May.

(Of course, just pure speculation! I was held April 7. Sent in my videos and a LOCI both on Tuesday the 15th.)

I meant sending a second LOCI. I submitted the first about a week ago before my interview on campus. Have you interviewed yet? I have a paralegal job with insane hours its taken me a bit longer. Sleep has become a privilege to say the least...

So, a LOCI is good to send at this point? I just thought that LOCIs shouldn't be sent until one is actually placed on the wait list. Plus, aren't the four essays our versions of a "LOCI?"

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
