Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017 - WITH SPREADSHEET!
I've been debating the LOCI/update thing for the past few days and am just hoping that performance awards happen in a timely manner this year. Also hoping to wrap up a huge project so I can say "hey look at this!"
I'm not terribly optimistic about my chances, though...so many splitters were dinged, and so many of us WL'd.

This may have been discussed earlier (sorry just checking in now) but is a June LSAT retake TCR for reverse splitters on the WL?

IIRC the waitlist acceptances start in May and end in June, before your lsat score would even be back.redsoxfan1989 wrote:This may have been discussed earlier (sorry just checking in now) but is a June LSAT retake TCR for reverse splitters on the WL?

I am just curious, why is there almost no one depositing Chicago? There is alot of Columbia/NYU.

I noticed that too.lawschool2014hopeful wrote:I am just curious, why is there almost no one depositing Chicago? There is alot of Columbia/NYU.
I can't speak for anyone else but I have yet to get a decision from Chicago

There's also the fact that Chicago has an insanely small class compared to NYU and CLS.
edit: I wonder if the CLS adcomms are looking at the spreadsheet. Its probably making them really nervous and would explain the crazy YP that went on this cycle.

Chi is currently my top choice among the schools I've been accepted to. I'm just not sure what I'm going to do yet.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017 - WITH SPREADSHEET!
This might be sort of a dumb question, but I haven't really done much research on the whole Waitlist/deposit/commitment scenario. So I don't have to withdraw from the Harvard waitlist if I submit a deposit to another school? Or does it depend on the school? I'm still waiting on FinAid/scholly info from Chi, Penn, Berkeley and NYU, and no decision from Stanford yet. Making a decision is damn near impossible at this point. :/

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2017 - WITH SPREADSHEET!
So... my family is pressuring me to visit Harvard now that I've been waitlisted to "show them I'm really interested." I am unsure about this. Is this even done? Is this even socially acceptable? Is this even possible?
I should just send a LOCI, right? A really good one?

^wowhio, it's done. It can show the admissions committee that you are really invested in attending, and will attend if you are admitted off the waitlist.

It's definitely interesting. For me, I would much rather be in NYC than Chicago, but that's a personal reason that I doubt applies to everyone elselawschool2014hopeful wrote:I am just curious, why is there almost no one depositing Chicago? There is alot of Columbia/NYU.

Does Columbia really have stronger rep than Chicago though? They are pretty much tied in terms of international rankings.manu6926 wrote:Preference for NY over Chicago. For me personally, having lived in Canada for my undergrad, I would much prefer to live in NY rather than Chicago due to Chicago's weather. Last year, a friend of mine turned down $ at Chicago and chose NYU at sticker.lawschool2014hopeful wrote:I am just curious, why is there almost no one depositing Chicago? Also, about Columbia vs Chicago... I don't want to sound like a douche but Columbia has so much more lay prestige and history. As much as I love the Chicago school of economics and like the university to the degree of being a fanboy, I must admit I do care about what people around me (family, friends) would think about my school. Moreover, for international students, alumni connections of CLS is so much greater than those of Chicago, in large part due to CLS's international law programs and high proportion of international students.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
