I went to the City Hall event which was on Friday night and it was pretty awesome, they had a huge room for us which was actually right next to Mayor Nutter's office. Tons of food, a pasta station, sushi chef, and of course free beer and wine. All of the faculty members and student ambassadors were so friendly and talkative I barely had time to eat anything.
Afterward the faculty invited us to walk a block to this bar called McGillan's (Philly's oldest Irish Pub FWIW) and handed out drink tickets. I didn't spend a dime all night. I was fortunate enough to make friends with some 2Ls and 3Ls and we hit up two more bars before calling it a night. The next day, albeit slightly hungover we made our way to the school at 8am for the actual tour.
Bottom line, I'd recommend going just for the free booze and night of galavanting. If you're looking for something fun to do just talk to some student ambassadors.
