The downtown area is generally very safe.kellohitty wrote:How safe is the area around campus? Are grads getting jobs that require a JD?resilience99 wrote:Congrats to all accepted. I am a 1L at SHU..can answer any questions.
Seton hall does a pretty good job with employment compared to other schools in the same tier. If you want biglaw, you have to be in the top 15% to really have a chance. But most NJ firms hire students who have completed a judicial clerkship. Employent opportunities are decent but I would try to get a substantial scholarship to reduce the risk of not getting a job that can allow you to pay back debt.

I sent an email requesting a "reevaluation" of my situation and also filled out the FASFA which puts you in for the rest of their scholarships. They said I would hear back in March.

I'm real tempted to do the same, but I'm still waiting to hear from wake forest, temple, rutgers, and Boston college, and I feel like BC and WF could be good bargaining chips.jrox1979 wrote:I sent an email requesting a "reevaluation" of my situation and also filled out the FASFA which puts you in for the rest of their scholarships. In via status checker on 12/16 due to USPS hating me I didn't get my packet until last week. 25,000 a year renewable all three years. I don't remember the stips but I can look if anyone is curious.

Hey all! Congrats on everyone admitted! I was curious how long you were under review? I've been since 1/28, longer than I thought it would take...submitted early Jan.

It took me a little over a month from submit to decision, and that was back when the volume of applicants was pretty low, so I think you have a little bit longer to wait.Yazzzay wrote:Hey all! Yes. You will have to write a letter for an appeal regarding your scholarship award. They look over the appeals in very early March.Yazzzay wrote:Hey! Has anyone started negotiating with them? Got a nice scholarship but have some higher offers...
