Looking at the data, looks like we did not place anyone in MA for class of 2012. However, that does not mean you have no shot getting a job there. With strong tie and decent grade, it is still very doable. If I recall correctly, we did have a few firms from Boston in OCI, but you will have to do a lot of self initiated job search since it is not one of our stronger market. If you can find ND alumni in a Boston firm, feel free to contact them and tell them you are considering ND, ask what their experience was when looking for jobs in that area.hos9903 wrote: Similar question to the one above...but how has ND done in the last few years with placement in Boston? I have fairly strong ties to the area, so where would I need to be within the class (top 15%? 20%?) to have a shot at biglaw there?

We placed quite well in OH as you can imagine, 11 in 2012 (in comparison, 15 in IN and 12 in NY). Many firms from OH came to OCI and do resume collect.jk148706 wrote:How about Ohio?

Status checker changed to Decision Made 11/21. Submitted Nov 7th. Have others found out via snail mail? And do scholarship awards appear in the initial letter? I'm optimistic because I was accepted to ND in a previous cycle with a small scholly.

ND is a huge D1 school, so if sport is your thing, there is always a lot of event going on (beside football and basketball, many sports are free to attend). Being a major university, we also have lots of cultural events and other activities as well, not to mention Chicago is just 90 miles away. The real question is how much time will you have outside of classwork to take advantage of everything else that is going on.NanaP wrote:Hello, how is the culture at ND? Are there activities to participate in outside of the classroom? Are students mostly studious, or outgoing? And how are the job prospects if one wants to head back east, DC, NY, PA?
Students are quite studious, but that does not mean we do not have fun. Weekly bar reviews, tailgate, pumpkin farm, Halloween party, just to mention a few.
We placed decently in the East Coast, 12 in NY, 5 in DC, and 4 in PA in 2012. Plenty of firms from those area came to OCI this year.

does anyone know if status checkers change at the same time? Or is it a file-by-file thing? Like will all "decision made 11/21" updates happen at once, or do they roll out throughout the day?

Also, usually it's snail but it sounds like a few in this cycle have heard via email as well.

Last year it did not take me long, can't remember exactly, but it was fast (comparatively speaking for LS, of course).

You should get an email Friday morning saying that you're in(99% sure, since ND hasn't started dinging people yet). They'll tell you if you qualify for a merit-based scholarship but not for how much yet. The package will come several days later.pcthenls wrote:Status checker changed to Decision Made 11/21. Submitted Nov 7th. Have others found out via snail mail? WHOA! You were right on! Just got the email at 10:32 am PST. In with merit scholarship info coming in Jan. I love this line "You are an outstanding candidate and we intend to make Notre Dame Law School the most attractive option available to you."King Cayuga wrote:You should get an email Friday morning saying that you're in(99% sure, since ND hasn't started dinging people yet). They'll tell you if you qualify for a merit-based scholarship but not for how much yet. How generous have they been in past years with scholarships?
And do they offer full rides at all?

Status checker changed to yesterday's date. I don't know if that means anything, but at least it's movement.
