Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Sorry if I'm missing something, but I can't figure out if I need to finish my application (also taking October LSAT) before I schedule an interview... on their website it says:
So, since I don't have any LSAT score yet (this is a first take, not a retake) and I haven't submitted an app yet, I can't schedule an interview until after I submit my app(which I'll do just after receiving my LSAT score), right? The "knock the interview out sooner rather than later" applies to people who already have their app in, and are just retaking the LSAT, right? thanksBeginning September 1, to request an off-campus interview, you must submit an application first and indicate your wish to interview off-campus in the Interview section of the application.

I'd contact them to clarify... last year I did my on campus interview before I got my score back. May have been an oversight on their part to word it that way this year.mlansky wrote:Sorry if I'm missing something, but I can't figure out if I need to finish my application (also taking October LSAT) before I schedule an interview... on their website it says:So, since I don't have any LSAT score yet (this is a first take, not a retake) and I haven't submitted an app yet, I can't schedule an interview until after I submit my app(which I'll do just after receiving my LSAT score), right? So I received an interview request in my city from the admissions staff. Do they offer interviews to everyone? They wouldn't offer an interview to an auto-ding, would they?

Checking in. Applying AJD and expecting to get bumped to gen pop.
And thanks for posting that fee waiver link, you just saved me $100. First round's on me next fall (I hope).

App completed, but went to the interview portal and my appointment hasn't been set yet (NYC). Do I get an email automatically when it is or do I have to keep checking the online app?

It says here:linkx13 wrote:App completed, but went to the interview portal and my appointment hasn't been set yet (NYC). Do I get an email automatically when it is or do I have to keep checking the online app?
So, it sounds to me like you schedule the interview yourself? Do you have your interviewer's contact info yet? After you submit your application requesting an off-campus interview, when your assignment has been made, you will receive an email alerting you to check the Off-Campus Interviewing Portal. Please allow approximately three (3) weeks to receive your interviewer's contact information. Once you login to the Portal, you will find the contact information of your alumni interviewer.
After you have received your off-campus interview assignment from the Admissions Office and scheduled an appointment with your alumni interviewer, please login and report your interview date. It is your responsibility to check the Portal to obtain your interviewer's contact information and report your interview date.

Oh okay so that's probably what they mean when they say up to 3 weeks and then that it's your responsibility to check the portal and get their info.linkx13 wrote: Every time I enter my info on that site I get this message:

I did my off-campus interview. Northwestern will e-mail you when you have been assigned an interviewer. Then, you log into your portal and see the e-mail address of the interviewer; it's then your responsibility to contact and decide on a date/time with the interviewer.McGruff wrote:Oh okay so that's probably what they mean when they say up to 3 weeks and then that it's your responsibility to check the portal and get their info.linkx13 wrote: Every time I enter my info on that site I get this message:

Interviewed on Tuesday. Off-campus and very relaxed. Interviewer even told me the suit wasn't necessary. However, unless you are in Hawaii, don't think this applies to most cases.

They did one for me. I'm active duty military and they worked with me. If you have a compelling reason why you can't do a face to face, they seem pretty amenable. Can't hurt to ask.

I emphasize the word 'compelling' and from last cycle can only note internationally located people as the ones they'd do Skype for.TheSpanishMain wrote:They did one for me. Yeah. They agreed to do it after I explained to them that I was on deck to possibly have to fly to Korea on short notice. I'm sure they're less receptive if it's just inconvenient.onionz wrote:I emphasize the word 'compelling' and from last cycle can only note internationally located people as the ones they'd do Skype for.TheSpanishMain wrote:They did one for me.
