This has probably been asked before, but I haven't been able to track anything down: Yale emphasizes academic LORs, because of the professor-driven admissions process. Does a letter from a graduate student who led a small seminar I was in work, or should I focus on getting LORs from faculty members?

Any splitters in this thread? I can't see the point in submitting an app unless you've got stellar stats.. am I wrong, or is this a thread full of superstars?

Splitter reporting here too. Yale for me is like trying to split Robin's arrow in twain in Men in Tights, but I'm hoping significant work experience and solid written materials will give me an edge. Hoping...

Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I am wondering if there is huge difference between submitting the app now versus submitting it in early November. I have got two versions of 250 which I personally find acceptable, though I would not call them inspirational. If possible, I would prefer to have one more month to wait for the inspiration to come.
I know Yale is possibly the only school where time of submission matters little. Will it also be true in my case?
Cheers.

It doesn't matter, and Yale makes it painfully clear that your chances will be the same regardless of when you submit. Also, a TLSer(I think last cycle?) submitted hours before the march deadline and got in.NapoleonXV wrote:I am wondering if there is huge difference between submitting the app now versus submitting it in early November. I'm probably going to sit on my app until January and I'm not even retaking lol. Who knows, maybe I'll retake december if I feel up to it.bbkk wrote:This is great to know, since I'm still studying for the LSAT...t-14orbust wrote:It doesn't matter, and Yale makes it painfully clear that your chances will be the same regardless of when you submit. can she still have access to FBI stuff as an adcom? if she uses her husband to gain access, wouldn't that be unethical?
