So guys. How early is too early to ask them about financial aid? They're my top choice, and I would be willing to put down a deposit NOW if I knew it would be even kinda comparable to the 30k/yr I've gotten elsewhere. Do I tell them this? Would it help? And when would be the right time? I know that last year it took until late April for everyone to get their information and I'd really like to avoid that.

In. Anyone know about scholarships? Do they give many? If not, I may just decide to retake, wait a cycle, and give more people a shot.

EDIT: By the way, this isn't meant to be elitist or anything. Davis is a fantastic school. I just realized I might want to take a year to pay down/off my undergrad debt before taking on law school debt.

hello all,
decided to check my application status today, (i do so sparingly to prevent nervous breakdowns)

my current status was: decision has been mailed
and i dont remember who suggested this earlier, but you can click the blue and underlined 'decision has been mailed' and it will load a pdf of your letter.
i was fortunate to hear good news from davis and my congrats to others who heard the same.

my friend actually showed me TLS earlier today and im amazed that within 5 minutes i had all the info needed to find out my app decision. so. very. cool.

I'd like to know as well. I sent in most of my apps mid December and have yet to hear from 7/11 of them.

Late November I believe. Went complete right away I think. Under review in January.

you're better off checking law school numbers to see complete/acceptance dates.

Hi guys, a quick question. I found my decision letter has been mailed today. Since I'm in China so I have to wait for 2 to 4 weeks to get my letter. LNS shows no 'waitlist' or 'rejected' decisions so far. Therefore, I'm wondering if it is probably that I've been admitted.

Many many schools require the Need Access and you only need to pay one fee to send it to all of them. Assuming you'll get into different schools and want money, might as well fill it out and send it asap. What's the fee like $18?

Is it true that international students are not eligible for scholarships, grants or aid of any kind from UC Davis Law? I just heard this from UC Davis Financial Aid Office. But how come? I got $$ from almost all the schools that accepted me. I really don't understand why UC Davis treats international students in such a harsh way. Is there any Davis student who would like to ask the current international JD students in Davis on my behalf.?Your help would be greatly appreciated!

In answer to financial aid questions I've seen:

1. The Need Access fee is $28
2. You don't get aid info with your decision letter. They send you a need-based estimate in Feb (provided you've filled out the forms), then confirm it in March I believe, and you find out about merit-based in April.
3. I already got my estimate, so, yes, they are sending those out already.
Edit: 4. I know nothing about international aid but if it's true that there is none then that sucks and I'm sorry.

This is strange...I didn't get any letter or e-mail at all from Davis. This is not making me any less nervous about what's going on up there...

Anyone else stuck on awaiting evaluation? I submitted 1/2/13, moved to "awaiting evaluation" on 1/14, and haven't heard anything since.
